mAAp Project / Re: Unnamed map WIP
« on: Tuesday, July 17, 2012, 12:53:27 PM »
Looks great to me! I've yet to play it (going to right after I've finished posting), but it looks pretty good to me.

A few areas seem to be a bit ... well empty (again, looking at the pictures), but as its a WIP it can be worked on in areas that do need more objects.
The scenery looks a lot like WC, but I think that's just saying "this looks familiar, I better try it", so I think that's good :)

Anyway, off to playing the version that was posted :)

EDIT:
Just played it, looks amazing, a LOT of mobility available. It's gonna be hard checking all those crates and places for people when trying to take an objective that the enemy has, but then again the enemy has to look at many entrances as well. I haven't of course played yet, but it seems pretty fun to me.

Have you figured out what kind of weapon layout there's gonna be? Will there be IF guys? Will there be grenades, how many smokes/flashes etc? This can of course wait, but for a first beta or something, these things will have to be somewhat figured out :)

The room next to the conference room near A objective was quite a big room, but it was completely empty (and it seemed to me there were some weird lights that game through the door from the conference room or something)

General Chat / Re: Well this game is getting boring.
« on: Friday, July 13, 2012, 02:12:36 AM »
I have onboard sound on a laptop, so all I can hear is doors open next to me and people moving a few meters away. This doesn't mean I can't take advantage of what I do hear, but it doesn't mean I have to go to my ini's changing shit to hear better either.

As per ini's -- its meh. Everyone seems to think that there is some _golden_ ini that just makes you better. It doesn't ,most so called tweaks arn't tweaks at all but more or less settings to get the game to run the best it can for your machine.  :duh:

Its somewhat true, but I've heard of people who minimize they're recoil through their ini's (don't ask me how, I don't know nor do I care),

But of course the thing you said about sound is true. Even if you know where the enemy is pretty good through sound, if you can't shoot for shit you might not kill him.

Look who you're talking to! Some that are still here have LITERALLY played this game for close to 10 years (possibly even more as the game is more than 10 years old now :) ), the fact that they're still here shows that not everyone gets bored as easily as you apparently do.

Only boring people are bored.

I've never played AA3, but I've seen it been played and it sucked major ass (OK, it was a few years ago), and I must admit, when I came back to this version, I thought I'd rather play 2.8.5, but now I don't know... maybe its because I've not played 2.8.5 in a long time, or maybe its because things that are new in 2.8.5 don't appeal me anymore...

I was just thinking of the whole thing... I mean when I die (which I do frequently), it sometimes seems like a BS shot, especially when someone does it twice or three times in a row, I call BS, but I never start accusing people of cheating in game, (unless of course it truly obvious) I just yell at my screen as loud as I can without disturbing people who might be near me, and that usually calms me down. I don't see the point in calling anyone who kills me a cheater, most of them probably aren't cheaters as there are A LOT of things one can do with pure luck in this game and most people probably have more skill in game than I do anyway...

Sorry for the very complicated and hard to understand BULLSHIT I just wrote.

I haven't used xfire in years, but back when I did, I didn't see the use for it.

« on: Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 09:35:11 AM »
AAO25.com &  Auth System/Server are in different locations, Auth can work without the Site as the site without the Auth xD
host change will not affect the game.
Damn, I was hoping it would be like the old days, when auth was down and you could log in with whatever name you wanted :)

The only thing I've changed in my ini is the mouse thing (by default it moves 2 pixels at a time and I set it to 1), should be more accurate, but I really don't see a difference :D

Yeah, it was some glitch. I also experienced it today in my own server. Why would I purposely want to play from a behind view perspective  :style:
Because you can see behind corners?
