General Chat / Re: Battletracker player rank issue
« on: Saturday, December 29, 2012, 15:47:28 PM »
What I described earlier was:
You have already played on a map, but only for like 1 hr, going 20 kills, 1 death, making your FR 20. Activity and Popularity should (at least in theory) be directly proportional to your FR, so if you play for 1h and have 20 FR, your Activity should be 20(20 FR multiplied by 1 hour) . Now if you play for an other hour going 0 kills 19 deaths, that would make your overall FR on that map 1, and your Activity would drop to 2 (1 FR multiplied by 2 hours). Don't remember the formula for Popularity, but I think it was something with score times FR (and Experience is pure score, 200point = 1 Experience %).

Did I understand you correctly, that you:
started playing on maps you'd never played before
had a bat kill/death ratio (FR) which resulted in your overall FR to go down

If that's the case, it shouldn't affect your playerrank, as it should be calculated with the FR of that map (and that map only).

Ban Appeals / Re: Ban for ServerMOD using?

As much as I know, the only problem is the kill points. You're not allowed to have more kill points for each kill, as BT tracks them as more kills this way and the overall result would be inaccurate.

But that's just what I know (or think that I know), so just let the admins settle it.

713 876(total score) - 77 069(ROE) = 636807 => thats 81 honor according to this: http://aao25.com/honor-claims/honor-claims-read-before-posting/

There's 1 reason I can think of that could make this happen.

If you have a high FR on a map, you receive high Activity and Popularity ratings on a map. If you were to have a FR of say 20 with 1 hr and then play for an other hour letting your FR drop to 1, your Activity and Popularity for that map could drop A LOT. BT looks at the average (for as much as I know) so that drop would have to be quite substantial to have an effect (or you'd have to be on the edge), so I don't know if there really is a high probability of this changing something.

Petrol:

There was 1 mention already, but there were 2 different places where you could get behind the houses at South side of the map (similar, but 1 SW and the other SE side kinda).

And from the house next to the gas station you can get on the powerlines and walk on them and get to places you shouldn't. They go both ways (west and east) and you can walk on either 1 and get pretty far. I don't like walking on powerlines anyway, but getting to otherwise unaccessable places is a sure no-go for me.

I have the screenshots in this rar:

Hardware/Software / Re: Get the most out of your computer sound
« on: Thursday, December 27, 2012, 06:52:34 AM »
I think the reason your new headphones' ambient and gunfire is too loud is because of the headphones' own integrated sound chip. While x-Fi has SVM (don't remember what it stands for) in the drivers, which pretty much cuts down the maximum noise when there's a lot of it, but I'm guessing your p531 doesn't have that option (or you haven't enabled it). Since the p531 has its own sound chip, it doesn't go through your x-Fi card and the options you use there don't make any difference.

And I don't know anything about modern/good headphones.

I used to have Medusas as well, but Spanky said they're crap (pretty much). I believe him, but I don't have money for an amp + good pair of headphones anyway.

I assume you've already told him to remove the tags?

I know the admins can ban him temporarily, so he can come on the forums and people can tell him what he did wrong.

I'm guessin this is your clan then: http://battletracker.com/clanstats/aao/24443/

Then just add the line "AmbientSoundScaling=0.800000". It should be there, no idea why it's not in your case.

The line
Code: [Select]
AmbientSoundScalingunder engine.pawn must equal 0.8 in your user.ini.

Although its odd if you say you just installed Assist, you should have default settings(0.8 is default).

In any case, to fix it, go to the location of your AA installation, go into the System folder, open the user.ini file (in notepad) and find the line "AmbientSoundScaling". Now edit the part after "=" to "0.8" and you should be all set.

If you don't know where your AA installation is:

mAAp Project / Re: The new mAAp Pipeline
« on: Thursday, December 20, 2012, 13:24:43 PM »
I second this. when you look from the other way the steam from the floor vents disappear as well.  It acts like that bottom window in blue building in Mout Mckenna.  The one that looks out towards church/alpha alley.  Most of you may know what Im talking about.  If it causes too much trouble then you might as well delete it.

I tried looking at the map again and still no bullet holes for me. I can shoot through glass and throw grenades through glass without them breaking. Its like the glass isnt even there.
I had all the bullet holes I fired... no problem there for me.

As for the windows, for me they don't break either. You can actually even walk through them (not only the windows, but the posts between them as well) when crouched.

The spiderweb in the North Side entrance isn't 100% see-through. If the door is open to the north side, and  you come from assault's side , the spiderweb makes a top part of the door disappear. Not a huge thing, but if it makes the door disappear, maybe it makes other things disappear as well.
