News / Re: Authentication issues

The latency for Assist client doesn't really matter much imho. Although it is usually high for me too.

As for waiting for the authorization, when you open Assist, on the bottom you can see a red dot and "Checking AA". Assist checks that your whole AA is up to date (including maps) and it just takes some time. I'm guessing that's the waiting you're talking about.

It could also be the connection. If it can't handle so many connections at once, I would guess some packets might not reach the players.
Just a thought though.

Good to see people are finally realizing this site's design features. It only took 11 months.
Don't worry, Spanky I didn't figure it out on my own. Some admin said it on an oth. thread some time ago . :)

is there a ban list that shows the current players banned and the reason why?? i always see at the top latest banned like lovevodka is on there now but how can we see why they are banned?
If you hover your cursor over the "number" after the name, you can see the reason.

For LoveVodka, it say "Wackist; - Shadowbot" .

As for an actual ban list, I don't know if there is a public one (but there might be).

Bug Reports / Re: problem with aa 2.5 assist
« on: Monday, February 18, 2013, 06:40:35 AM »
Try to run Assist as Administrator and make sure you have enough space (about 2,5 GB should be enough) on your Windows drive(usually C: drive).

Also make sure that your firewall(s) isn't blocking Assist.

If that fails, try downloading Assist again, make sure you download it from http://aa25assist.sourceforge.net/ .

If that still doesn't work someone smarter has to help you.

14.11.2007 was the upload time !! i mean the game stopped years after ! :P why should i lie ??
The simple thing is, you need proof. While you might not be lying, there might be a hundred people who could be lying about it.

For proof you can have a SS, points on your tracker, or for example redsack.com honor proof.

Yeah, put them back. Then wait a few weeks and take them away again. Then put them back again in a few additional weeks.

I think this would lead nowhere. There's just too many people whining either way. I think it's easier to keep it as it is.

For all I know it goes to hosting the Auth server and keeping the site alive. But I could be wrong.

Nah, navy icon 4life.
You can either have the Army Active icon or you can have nothing. The admins have enough on their plate as it is, so they're giving all the US military the same icon.

I think there is some confusion in here...
He said that link and i only said:
Don't know if anyone did open that link but it's forwarding for the same address that Goose gave.
You guys are reporting issues to find the download in this forum site right? Because in the www.aa25.org i think it is pretty clear where to go...
Yes, you're right. The addresses just look so similar.

And Koden, yes using google to find this stuff is fairly easy, but there's people here every week who can't search either the forums or the internet in general (google).

Let's say for the sake of argument that what Spanky did to the roof was a mistake. Fine. But why does everyone need to an asshole and bitch and whine about it? What ever happened to politely addressing the situation or asking for a poll? How come when any mistake is made, people automatically resort to blowing up about it. Show some respect. Spanky's intention was to fix a bug, not make the roof unplayable. If you feel that a change should not have been implemented, post about it without being a dickhead. Do you honestly wonder why Spanky and Killa are pissed off? Really?
I don't.

But hey, I'm the idiot who reads almost every post on these forums.

I guess the big orange button that says "Download Assist" on the main page when a user isn't logged into this site (i.e. new user) that takes you here: http://aao25.com/info#Downloads isn't enough?
Yeah, I'm sorry I'm not "not logged in" too often so I don't notice that.

But on a different note, I do remember having problems finding the link when I started. I guess if you're looking for a way to log in or to register you would see the link, but if you were looking at the other, regular navigation tabs, then it could happen that you wouldn't see it right away.

I agree. Right now it's under "Info" and that, in my opinion, is quite vague. For all a newcomer knows, it could just be some random info about this site that would not interest someone who would just like to download the game.
A "Download" button/tab at the top would be better.

Just what I feel.
