another stupid problem im having. If i placed an ammo pickup in my map but it placed it somewhere and i cant find it and it is causing errors. Is there a way to select this actor without knowing where it is?

Ok so in the zone viewer its clearly showing different colors for the different zones but when i report in down in the basement it tells me im in Escort building stairs. The zones are clearly different and are not even connected to eachother at all so i have no idea how something like this could be happening?

So i had everything situated with the zone portals and what not and then all of a sudden after a build alot of the portals in the basement seem to be off. When i report in its telling me im in places no where near where i actually am. All of this was fine before and for some reason now it all seems broken. Anyone know what might be going on here?

I say give him the 2.5 editor. I'd like to see what he can make from scratch though. When it comes to making maps, creativity is just as important as knowing all the technical aspects of the editor. It doesn't matter how much you know if you can't create a balanced and creative map.

My plan is to most definitely make my own map. I wanted to start with editing an already existing map to get my bearings with the editor. I've been planning out my own map in my head the whole time doing this and as soon as this hospital project is done I shall start building my own map.

VIP spawning with a breacher seems illogical, maybe he can find one on a table near his spawn?

My reasoning for the vip having a breacher is this:

before the mission special forces intel reported that the enemy was going to make an escape attempt on the vip. This was only hours before the attempt was made. A security guard that new the hospital well said there was a weapons closet locked up in the security room but the key was lost. Soldiers decided to arm the vip with his ak74 and 1 mag along with a breacher to possibly enter the locked room.

I think this story makes sense :D

As you can see the breachable room is just a closet. My plan is to give only the VIP 1 breaching charge and put an ak with 1 mag and a smoke grenade in there.

i mean that works for me. I can give you guys a copy of the map if you have 2.8.5 and wanna check it out. It's not completely done but its getting there. Just working on adding in sounds and placing a few more random objects everywhere.

Meshes aren't used for that. They're pickups and just like spawn points they're a little tricky to find in the actor menu.

so if i place a static mesh of a weapon in the map how do i make it so players can pick up the weapon and ya know shoot things with it :P

Those are the few i've found, there are more (for a total of 29) but they all seems to be belonging to the AA2 version of the map  (e.g. radar map images) so you most likely it works fine enough to port with ease.
