Affinity (amount of cores) does nothing for AA. The only thing like that which might help is setting the AA process to "Above Normal" which would be a good thing to have in an update for Assist. The option is already there for the server I think.

I'm quite pleased that I've never heard of any of them despite playing AA avidly 5-7 years ago. Just proves you don't need clans, teams, battles, organization or any of that shit to have fun.

That site always seemed more pointless than 4chan to me. Like 4chan, I never understood it's purpose.

Jonny, did you ask AA developers about sources? Maby they will give it to us?

I've contacted various people at AA over the years about even the possibility of having some help/information and never got a reply. Having the AA source wouldn't really do much unless you want to fix bugs or add more major content. It has nothing to do with integrating newer PB or fixing Win8 issues in Assist (which is likely due to Assist being compiled before Win8 was tested in RealStudio).

It's because the site's hosting doesn't have the ports open or won't allow the communications to the servers. I have the list on my host still;

You get off your ass and create an anti-cheat system for scratch. What? You can't? Then shut up.

I'm sure it's something highly coveted like a mousepad or perhaps a t-shirt ;)

yeah start esl and play always the same 5 esl nerd maps...  great idea  :?

Might want to stay out of this thread if you don't like "competition". These people will flame you like no other, defending their desire to take a game that's supposed to be fun and turn it into something serious with organizing and planning.

It's a Windows error too. I've seen it. No idea what causes it. Probably some kind of program running in the background. Update your stuff and disable any startup programs you don't need.

There um had a chat where everyone could ask for live help about, kicks or configurations, and at the same time ther were many teams asking for a scrim, and that was really usefull and easy to find a scrim.

A lot of you guys weren't around when Assist did have a chat built-in. There was a lot of abuse, complaining and random people popping in saying "help me" and then "hello" 5 times before they left. It might work if there was admins/moderators there to help and watch for abuse and if everyone had Assist open just sitting there (which also puts more load/bandwidth on the Assist Server).

You're then talking about having it be in-game chat, that's a whole other realm of work & effort and it would most likely end up causing more issues because you have to use a DirectX hook. There's several other programs that do this already, FRAPS, XFire, Steam, TeamSpeak and adding another hook means a much greater chance of crashing something.

It's just not practical. It opens a huge door for abuse, complaining and hassle. Been there, done that.

I dislike IRC. It seems odd to setup and nobody knows how to use it anymore.

It would be great if there was a compiled list of TeamSpeak servers where users could freely submit their TS and it just shows up in a list.

A Chat on assist [...] New maps are useless.

Your priorities sure are interesting. You mentioned probably the most useless thing Assist could have now (sorry Jonny). Have you not heard of MSN, Yahoo, AIM, GTalk, XFire, Steam, Mumble, Teamspeak, Ventrillo or anything like that? Much faster and with a lot of those, you can actually chat while in-game. I can't imagine many people would sit with Assist open waiting for someone else to invite them into a scrim...

But, hey, we all have different likes.

The only thing I find gay in this version is the length of flash effect - nobody likes getting flashed but this is way too long.

It exists in 2.3, that's it. There is no "mod" to re-add meshes, textures, and the code for pickup, damage and all that jazz.
