General Chat / Re: How healty is Assist for next year??
« on: Tuesday, September 24, 2013, 16:07:29 PM »
If you check BT stats you see a drop from ~950/day to ~650/day since the AC-shutdown scenario.
That means over 30% are gone.

If we would get rid of Assist it may bring back a lot of them, even without scoring.
You seem to want more players to play the game, but you don't seem to know what you're talking about.

Do you realize that if you closed Assist, you'd need to connect to servers the manual way (i.e "connect xxx.xxx.xxx"), which may not seem a lot to you, but trust me, it is a lot to a lot of the players here. And that's just the start. Evenbalance hasn't supported the game for what? 1½ years now? Even if you played without Assist, you'd still get people cheating on the game far more than you do now.

Assist isn't just a way for the admins to "fuck with you", it's a program to make your life easier!

PS.
Sorry for the rage.

The VIP-gun is not a bad gun really, it's only shit if you wanna hit someone from distances greater than the length of your arms.

I don't think that is possible. (Although it might be, I've never tried or anything...)
And even if it is, I'd at least hope the admins have banned it.

Right click on the bar with all the tools, settings and stuff, then select "Toolbar".

That should do it.

Too high sound is like wallhack, no interest
Not only that, but it hurts my ears damn it! I'm not playing this to have my ears bleed, I'm playing to have fun.

But to be honest, I think the way people try and hear things from further away is still messing with the equalizer, trying to make sounds they're looking for stand out more from the background noise.

and that's exactly why it's a good thing people get kicked for that.

Honestly. that whole "feature" needs to be removed. People on hosp are always complaining about roofbuggers, bugusers, hackers etc, but they are the BIGGEST exploiters by using these kind of things DELIBERATELY to get an advantage when picking 18B (best spawn and better gun).

And any means to defend the action of doing this is useless, because they KNOW they get an advantage over others who do not use this parental control thingy.
I believe the devs got around it on later versions by making you have an M16 instead of an SF on Hospital if you had Adv. Marksmanship disabled.
Don't know if they did something different on Urban, though.

I do too, in fact I'm pretty sure most of the players play on Windows 7 nowadays, without even knowing they have "inferior sound".

People do that in order to get an SF instead of SPR in Hospital, or 4 flashes on Urban Assault.

Ban Appeals / Re: Banned, but i was not xploiting, not on purpose

I still don't get it. Did you fall on that light when dead or were you just injured?

If you were dead, then it's quite unusual to get a hackhunter warning (for as much as I've seen at least).
If you were alive:
You might have been  crawling and when falling on prone position you first stand up and then take the prone position again. If you fire while doing this, you'll get a warning (if that's that last 1 you're allowed, you'll get kicked).
If you weren't crawling, you might have got bugged on that light in some other way. Falling on edges can cause weird bugs sometimes (e.g hurting yourself from green to red without falling more than a foot).

Seemed perfectly OK to me yesterday.

And I don't really understand what you mean by the last sentence.

It's real simple:
You need to have 15 honor to play on SF Exclusive maps (maps that have only SF weapons, so no IF, RPK etc)
You can play with any honor on SF maps that have IF and/or RPK etc.

Its never done intentionally. Would you not consider it human reflex to do anything u can to not die? Ie lay down to avoid getting shot, and shoot back? Shouldnt spaz your screen, same goes with all the other ones. Just disable the ability to but as soon as ur prone it allows you to.

Another update not needed? there is plenty that needs improvement. The main 3 glitches - 31 203s, lean glitch, zoom glitch should be on the top of the list. Extremely common.
Unless something has changed during the summer, I believe the Assist team doesn't have access to the original code of the game, therefore there's only so much they can do to stop people using bugs and not a whole lot they can do about removing them from the game itself.

I might be wrong though.

Oh, so you're saying you don't have an account on dropbox? Or does dropbox require an account in order to download?

In my experience most people have a dropbox account anyway. And I'm pretty sure dropbox doesn't require an  account to download files (in fact I just tried it).

I don't think they're forbidden... I was just playing on a modded server and it was tracked and everything.

Langy, you have to download things from dropbox as well. It's just a whole lot easier since you don't have to register on an extra site.
The file's less than 8mb, dropbox can handle that without any problems.

As for taking a look at it, it's not really worth having a look if I don't plan on setting up a Linux server, don't you think? It could be, of course, useful to read it and/or comment on it if I had previously started a Linux server and had any input to give, but I'm guessing most people don't.
