I just tried to join the UK server that's up but nothing happens. It's like I'm missing files or I'm blocked or something. AA just starts up straight to the menu. Here's my log but I can't see anything worthwhile in it:

Material? Not sure what you mean.

I was just giving another test of it and I realized an issue with the physics mod; the collision online isn't the same as offline. The ball actually sinks 1/3 into the ground when online yet sits on the surface offline. Not a big deal really but just kind of annoying.

I've fixed some of the simpler edit you suggested.
Some I will keep in mind moving forward

This release is mainly (as Possessed said) a security update, also it is a opportunity for me to start slowly without making to many changes and make sure all the moving parts still fit together, and boy are there many moving parts in this project :)



That's cool. I mostly mentioned those things to help simplify the layout. Less things for new users to look at = better :)

So I got to thinking about the physics that VendorX built for us and thought that aside from a barrel & box in PBall, there really isn't much. I set out to make a soccer ball:

It doesn't look like one nor does it fully behave like one but I think it's pretty nifty. My initial ideas are to setup a team blocking trigger goal (I've already tested triggers with these physics objects and they do trigger things) so that the first team to get a goal gets their armory unlocked and are the first or only team to get weapons. It's kind of silly but there's plenty of ways this could be setup or done. I just figured PBall was a nice map size to try it out on and I'll probably continue it if there's interest.

I think training is bugged for anything, some of the training relies on the auth servers that aren't up anymore. A while back I was going to look into modifying the maps but... guess who didn't get around to doing it.

Imho the good idea is a tab in Assist application with info from main AAO25.com website.

Assist could load a static page on AAO25 that queries the news board and pulls the latest post. There's all kinds of options that can be done:

Just tested it out as a fresh install. All seems to be going good. The worst thing I saw was that the authentication message showed up twice but that's it.

There's a few ideas & suggestions I'd like to run by:
America's Army Assist Setup Dialog Box:
- Capitalize the A in "army"

Main SITREP page:
- Remove all text after "Click HERE" for wrong honor.
- Remove Battletracker text and button. Create a "Help" or "?" button next to login that pops up a dialog box that says "A Battletracker.com account is required to play America's Army through Assist. Click the "Register" button to create an account. After you create an account, you will have to set your desired AA username in the "Tracker Settings" section of Battletracker." Then have 2 buttons, one takes you to register an account at Battletracker and the other takes you to Tracker Settings. http://battletracker.com/forum/index.php?page=Register and http://battletracker.com/index.php?form=TrackerSettings
- Remove PB service message. People that need help will most likely either click the help tab anyway or just go to the forum. I think the "FIX" button pretty much says all it needs to.


Ideas:
- While downloading AA, it would be nice to have a pause option in-between the steps so you can pause after the current step is done.
- Update map images to the ones currently in Dropbox, there's resized ones and 720p ones. Clicking on the screenshot in Assist would enlarge it to a full size 720p version. To take this a step further, have the screenshot loaded from AAO25.com so Assist doesn't have to be updated for new screenshots. Maybe just have Assist look for http://aao25.com/images/%mapname%.png or something.

Also, what about a news alert kind of thing? Where Assist could pull forum posts from this site and display them in Assist to alert people of polls or information?

A task as simple as that on a modern processor, you wouldn't even notice it. Also, I'm just talking out loud about a neat idea which will probably never get implemented.

If feels like 2 systems bodged together and settings and functions are spread between them to force you to use both. Its really painful and i wish there was just a start menu, why did they take it away ffs?

I agree 100%. Metro might be ok if the programs used the same settings and whatnot as their desktop counterparts but they don't and that's just moronic. That leaves desktop users absolutely no reason to use Metro...

Thankfully there's programs like Classic Shell but again, it shouldn't have to be a 3rd party workaround.

You think all versions of Windows are shit :) I don't think Windows 8 is shit but I'm plenty happy on 7 and wouldn't go out to buy 8. Windows 8 would have been perfect if Microsoft made an official method to enable/disable Metro. Windows 8 does have some nifty improvements but it's hard to get past Metro.

I don't have Assist installed currently (don't think I've ever had it on this current install of Windows). I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and I have annoying attention to detail. If you want bugs or minor things to fix, I'm sure I can give you a good handful.
