Drama & Spam / Re: AA assist shoutbox unfairness

It was fair in my eyes, I banned about 4 people that day. I saw that guys wall of text, glanced at it and moved on. I typically only skim through the shoutbox.

Is there a state of pawn dying? Or something that could be triggered at death. I would think it would be straightforward to force spectate the player that killed you for 5 seconds or so.

I glanced at that shout and didn't see anything harmful but I guess I never made it to the end :)

My idea still stands though. It's going to have to be an issue that YOU fix, nobody supports 2.8.5.

I believe Assist launches AA via a URL added to the command line. Probably something like armyops://127.0.0.1:1337

Maybe ELiZ can clarify this.

I seen it, just been busy with a little thing called life. I'll get around to replying.

Your default programs are messed up. I'm not sure if there's a way to reset all of them but that's the general direction you need to look.

You gotta stick it in the IMG BB Code tags, like this:

It is realy nice to have appreciation for all thah bug searching we are doing. Thank you and thanks that you are trying to fix em

Likewise, it's nice to have appreciation for quality content in this game. It's been quite a while since people have seriously looked for bugs. It's gotten me more motivated to contribute to the site & game.

Go to your Assist install and delete LocalFiles.txt without Assist running.

im going to try this alt DL of assist and see if that replaces and fixes anything
( http://aao25.com/forum/support/alternate-download-for-assist/ )

Any suggestions / solutions ?

My suggestion is to not use that download, it's probably older than your current installation. Go in and delete the Impact download/map.

Fair enough. They're hardly prophecies though. Over half of them apply to me.

No GIT or SVN. Personally I've tried to use those but they seem to be complex to setup and difficult to use, like Linux stuff.

This project has always had a haphazard way of organization and distribution. We use Dropbox to share files with the admins/devs and put everything into a Release folder. Then, when ready, we typically rely on ELiZ even though he's provided instructions for updating because the last time I tried it, I screwed it up and made people unhappy. There's 2 servers that have to be updated with MD5 checks (both in PB and Assist).

We do have a dev forum and also another forum where hand-picked members are allowed to test and discuss changes.

That's my fault. These were quick fixes implemented quickly. We haven't had too many releases lately.

I'm working on some more fixes for Impact & Stronghold. We'll probably have a bigger release and I'll make sure to have a post ready.

Impact should now be seriously fixed. Also spent some time to fix some lighting and optimization issues.
