While I think this could be a good idea, I am currently enjoying my time in IHF so I will not be a part of this. Good luck though. ;)

Yeah, Think i will just wait for 2.5 to die. Because the problem with 2.5 is the people who play it, Not the game itself.

That is the case with every game. There are always idiots playing the game, it is just with bigger communities they don't stand out as much.

Games & Programming / Simple TeamSpeak 3 Review
« on: Sunday, December 20, 2009, 16:55:32 PM »
TEAMSPEAK 3

*This picture is the public server provided by Teamspeak*

AUDIO QUALITY
The main concern with the new release is audio quality. It is definitely better than teamspeak 2, but it still mostly depends on the mics that people have. I have heard people with terrible audio quality and I have heard people with amazing audio quality. It is hard to tell whether or not it is better than vent, but it definitely surpasses teamspeak 2.

SETTINGS and INTERFACE

More sophisticated than TS2 by a long shot. There are many more options under settings and permissions. You can change the design of the window by changing the window style, making it like XP, Vista, or whatever. You can Chane the theme, which starts at a default plain white. The only other theme it gives you is sky blue. There is also an option for different icon packs, but the client does not come with any. My guess is that you will be able to download custom icon packs and themes for TS3. Then you just have the normal playback, security, sound, notification, and chat settings.

SERVER SET-UP
It is kind of hard to review it because I have yet to get it working properly. It is overly complex and no very user-friendly. The server set-up "read-me" was not very helpful and didn't explain things very thoroughly. Maybe it is just because i have not hosted a TS3 server before, but I couldn't figure it out.

CONCLUSION
Based on the quality alone, it is definitely much better than Teamspeak 2. The extra settings, like being able to change the design of the window are nice too. Overall it is much better than TS2. The only problem is that not many people are hosting servers on TS3, so you have to use the public server. Hopefully people will start moving to TS3 though, seeing as it is much better than TS2.

If anyone has any questions, just ask. I'll try to answer them the best I can.

Wow, it's about time. Hopefully it competes with Vent. Post back a review if you want :)

Will do once I have more time with it.

The ps3 beta is pretty fun, and I think it will be much better on PC because most games are. Aside from the occasional bad port.

Lets hope they use PhysX... Otherwise I'm sure it will be one of those games where the recommended requirements are a quad core cpu :( Anyway, I'm totally looking forward to it.

Sadly, it actually is. It has pretty high required specs. it kind of sucks but I'll still be able to run it.

Sorry that I forgot to the post the specs on there. Added required and recommended specs to original post.

Although it is not Battlefield 3, which everyone wants. :'(    This game looks superb in its own way.

These pics were all high resolution, I re-sized them for the sake of the post.
Bad company 2 supports DX11 and while a PS3 beta is already out, a PC beta will be coming early next year.

Hardware/Software / Re: First Graphics Cards of the DirectX 11 era.
« on: Saturday, December 19, 2009, 11:01:07 AM »
I hate when they have race wars on who can release the latest and greatest features first. That ultimately leads to bad craftsmanship.

That is true. Same happened with the Xbox 360. They rushed the release and half of the systems were faulty. But I have heard nothing but good reviews for these cards. But when Nvidia comes out with it 300 series, they will probably be very expensive. I hope they make a cheaper DX11 card (in the $200 range) because I prefer Nvidia cards over ATI.  ATI has an advantage because they are making DX11 cards that people can afford.
