General Chat / Re: Friday Night
« on: Thursday, March 20, 2014, 14:33:06 PM »
Well NA's would have their own time I'd guess.

I think Mafioso are playing some other game a lot. I've seen a lot of them on their TS even though nobody seems to be on AA.

They seem to have closed down their AA server, though (as of 50 minutes ago according to the post on their website). It used to host mAAp Breakout a lot and I loved playing it! :(

The rules of behavior in game you agreed to when installing Assist (and every time an update is done).

The rules for the forums can be found here:
http://aao25.com/forum/the-lounge/aao25-forum-rules/msg28200/#msg28200

I do think that it might be a good idea to have that same topic in more forum categories, so it would be easier to locate.

If I don't have anything better to do on my Friday night, I don't see why not.
And you guys probably know well enough that I don't have any social life :D

News / Re: A seven day experiment.

This is the current build...
I've added a bg(The same that are used in Assist Loading screen)

I plan to deploy it in a few hours to Bridge Crossing.
I think the first thing we could do is add it to maps like Yeti's lair and the UT map, which are otherwise not tracked.
For example on Yeti's lair it could be a huge screen on the ceiling :)

Other than that, it looks like it would fit some maps (like SF Extraction, SF Hospital, SF Blizzard, Pipeline (SF) ...) while it may look a out of place on others (like Urban Assault, SF Sandstorm, HQ Raid, Farm Raid, SF Arctic, SF Taiga, SF Recon...).

Just my thoughts.

I didn't know he had a server. Then again, I never really play Bridge, either.

As for getting kicked. I've had that as well. What I usually do is just start a vk back. If there's an ongoing votekick, they can't start a new one :)

I dunno how Eliz did it, but he had a nice 9 day statistic of this idiot. So it's possible, if it's easy... no idea ;-)
Like briefly discussed in another topic here, there are plans of creating an Assist tracker on the way, so that's how he did it. It's not particularly hard if you know which player you're looking for :)

Honor Claims / Re: Honor claim
« on: Tuesday, March 18, 2014, 18:42:49 PM »
I don't like giving out honor based on time played as there is no way to know what points were earned. However, after doing some rough points calculation based on your current average score/hours and hours played, you would be around 60 honor give or take 5 honor. Since there is no proof you earned that many points/hour I'll give you 55, does that sound fair?
To me, if it were just his hours, it would sound more than fair. Back in the day, there were so many possibilities of playing it without gaining honor points (matches obviously gave none, they were held on none-honor servers). Plus, when starting playing, you're probably not going to get the same score/hour you will later on (to his defense, though, I guess he was away for quite some time, so it's sort of like a second start).

But all in all I think with the addition of his points gained now, it sounds pretty fair.

AA Support / Re: AA2.5 faster on old xp machine than Win 8?
« on: Monday, March 17, 2014, 17:24:16 PM »
It might be that windows 8 is bad for gaming (I don't know).

The first thing you might try would be to update your graphics drivers.

An other thing you have to keep in mind is that AA only runs on one core. So having 2 would not really help.

I found a version of the described laptop:
http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-C855D-S5100-15-6-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00B0KQPCG
If this is what you have, I'd say your CPU is the problem.

But then again, I'm not an expert.

General Chat / Re: Disable player admin icon

Tell them to quit crying and play the game. Problem solved!
You have to join as a spectator admin in tourney mode, player admin is disabled.
Yes. I know.
What I said is, if you join a regular server as playeradmin, your name will not show up until you choose a side (not even under spectators).

I think in this case everybody would see that an admin is on and starts crying again.
I'm pretty sure that's not true unless your on tournament mode. In fact, even if I join as a regular Player Admin, my name will be hidden until I actually join a side.

it depends m8 me and some friends sometimes also flash each other at beggining of round and if we flash real close it gives -800. but not all times. i can explain but it happens.
Oh, I know that, it's the early ROE. It's there to defend against people who start up the round firing at friendlies and then it gives a lot of ROE (usually accompanied with a suicide).

Assist Support / Re: multiple accounts problem

On the same computer, these 2 have played before, many times:
http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/842115/
http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/842582/

These 2 accounts share together 6 different UUIDs. Of those 6 UUIDs, 4 have been used for both accounts mentioned above.
There are additional ties (through BaSHiDo) to these 2 accounts:
http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/845859/
http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/846240/
Both of which have also been declined for activation.

I don't know what you guys are doing, but it looks odd to me...

I totally understand what you're trying to say, Steve. Back in those days there were so many players and servers (even on the same map) to choose from, that one or two teamkilling here or there wasn't really a big problem.

However, nowadays, when at the best of times we have no more than 5-8 full servers (just an estimate, I don't know the exact numbers, plus there are more servers with just a few people on them), therefore a guy who come teamkilling his own team every time he joins a server gets really annoying really fast. There's usually not even another server to join (on the same map at least) to get away from him.

And you said you guys liked to flash each other... that's not really a problem as a flash gives you a maximum of only -10 ROE (per person flashed), which doesn't really amount to much a lot of the times.
