First problem with that idea is getting people in the game. Unless we get this idea picked up by a major publisher its going to be hard to get a player base that big. for when there is only a few people in the game say 20-30 the game is going to suck cause its so huge. Second problem I see is getting a server that would support that huge of a game. We would have to buy our own box just to run one server and I don't know about any one else but I'm broke. Third this game sounds a lot like the battlefield series.

1) We can have AI too

2) It really isn't like battlefield, well in my mind isn't.  In battlefield you can't control subs or airplanes etc. You can control helis and some boats but not to this extent.

You can fly jets in battlefield 2....

Killaman, don't you have photoshop skills?

I have photoshop, I wouldn't say that I have skills though seeing as most of the people on this site are much more familiar with it and better than me.

Something that I find interesting would be mixing an FPS and an RTS. No one has really tried it because I guess it is too big of a risk for developer. Something like you tell your units where to move and then you can play the battle as a soldier. This way you get the RTS feel but the battle is still somewhat in your hands. It would be fairly difficult to implement in online play however. We could also make it something like ghost recon where you are a squad leader and you can tell your squad mates where to go. Just some ideas.

Bad news. My card is again not sending load information. Must be my PCI-e slot or motherboard.  :-X  The good news is that the fan for the GTX is much quieter than the one for the GTS so I can keep it at 60% without it bothering me much.

(sometimes I throw in a sentence or two about you Spanky :P)
<3 at it's purest form.

This reminds me of a part in GTA4:

The first time I saw Brucie I was hoping that I would get to kill him later on.

AA is dead for me now. Just got done playing about an hour of Pipeline and had some problems. I played on the pick your gun server (or maybe one of many?), and everyone was whoring the RPK and SF while I used the M16. Objectives were turned off. I was told that "killing is the objective" and sarcastically replied "well aren't you a realist". They didn't like that :\ After an admin killed his teammate and his score was brought down to like -400 or so, he reset the scoreboard so that it wouldn't go toward his tracker, presumably.

What happened to playing for the experience and enjoyment of playing?

*EDIT*
To clarify, one of the admins even understood my comment about the other admin and said something about how the military has set objectives before they go in and kill everyone (this guy must have went to Harvard). Then, he said that he didn't understand how that was relevant.

You could just download massive hacks and go to servers you don't like and then just rape it repeatedly. Maybe you'll teach them something.
:D :D The UN server has been hacked numerous times. They are used to it.

You played on the UN server? Seems like someone didn't get the memo.  :-\ Do you wonder why most of the decent people on AA do not play on pick your own gun servers? The admins are idiots and the servers suck even worse. Most people just steer away from them.

Bottom line, don't play on modded servers and you can have some fun.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what to think about that. The GTX is the older chip but it has more RAM. Glad it was successful and it's nice to see EVGA goes the equivalent or better route.

Yeah. The real pain is that I had to go out and buy another SATA cable because the GTX is about an inch thicker than the GTS and my old cable didn't reach. $10 for a fucking cable. I feel ripped off.

I played BC2 and it actually seemed to run better than on my old card.

Wish you would have posted before you bought it, I would have sent you one for shipping cost :(

Note on EVGA's RMA. Its amazing. Ive RMA'd 3 cards to them (all my fault) and gotten the the same model as I sent back in 2 weeks. I will only buy EVGA graphics cards for this reason. Guess I'm a bit of a fan boy with them :D
I know what you mean, their customer service is outstanding. I will always buy EVGA for my graphics cards. That is of course if I stick with Nvidia, ATI has been making some great cards at great prices.

Someone told me that he RMA'd an 8800GTX and they sent him a GTX260  :o

Juts received my RMA from EVGA and got an 8800GTX in return for my 8800GTS 512. A little bit of an upgrade but not much. I'm just happy that I can finally play my games again.  ;D

could someone, (either here or in a new topic) explain to me in idiots terms what the graphic options i can change in games are, v-sync, preload player skins etc etc etc and explain to me the benefits and the bad parts... cos i have no idea, course i know what some is, anti ailsing makes curves more curvey, uhh, draw distance makes it draw stuff further away :)

or shall i continue to dwell in ignorance?

I thought Aussies were so smart? Now you are asking for an American's help? Imagine that.  :D

Anyways, Vsync just syncs the frame to make smoother gameplay Less shearing and tearing. Dynamic lighting makes light look more realistic. Decals enables weapon scaring. If you hover your mouse over it it sometimes gives you a brief explanation of what it is. I have no idea what projectors are though.  :-\
