Not really. The time was cut down to about half outside as well.

They're set to the exact same time they were set to on 2.8.5. The only difference is that in this version of the game, they work the same outside as they do inside, whereas on 2.8.5 the flashes had next to no effect outside.

He didn't lose his right for freedom of speech. He said what he said and it was his opinion. All good with that.
Now the problem arose when the decision makers in the company found that what this CEO said is bad for the company's reputation.

I don't know the exact details of all of this and how 'private' this conversation was, but I agree with someone who said that something that a public figure says is almost always public (usually unless spoken to a friend or family member). Therefore the public statement made the company look bad (at least in the eyes of the other people working there), which lead to him stepping back (or getting fired, whichever it was).

He was still allowed to express and have his own opinion. But being a public figure, he will still represent the company whether it's an official press conference of said company or something else. People who don't know him still recognize him as the CEO of that company before anything else.

They're not. Flash times are twice as short as they were in the original 2.5 (don't quote me on the exact amount, it's somewhere in these here forums, I can't be bothered to look for them though).

While some people might want the 'authentic 2.5 experiene', it is probably not the majority. There have been numerous polls asking whether people want a change (such as shorter flash times for example) and the devs here have gone with the majority. Therefore the majority has wanted a change towards 2.8.5 style gameplay instead of the "authentic 2.5 experience".

Homey woke up. Here's what he wrote on Battletracker as an answer to your question, ELiZ:

Yes it will. We are still using a lot of their services, for example all our "master serverlists" are synced with gamespy ... also games like AAO still use GameSpy Query that we need to track the stats. I am not sure what will happen when they shut down their services, we have to see ...

Unsure if it will cause any bad problems that we can not solve, too early to say that. With some luck we can find solutions for everything

General Chat / Re: Where is the activity?
« on: Wednesday, April 09, 2014, 09:57:32 AM »
Well I am rather happy to see a lot of account activations ...
You mean the threads about them or the real number of activated accounts? Because I just now activated 10 new accounts, none of which had a thread for them. And there has been 40 activation requests since 2014-04-08 13:40 (and 37 accounts have been activated after that time). So there's many new accounts coming in. I don't know how many of them go through training though.

Yes, it is highly dependent on culture and the society you one lives in.

However, it's not as straight forward as that.

For example, where I live (Estonia), the age of consent is 14, but the average age of people going to college is actually 19. So the same principles do not always work.
Don't get me wrong, you're probably right to some extent, DarkShooter, but it's not such a simple subject.

The age of consent will always be a difficult subject though. There's a difference between a 15 y/o having intercourse with a 17 y/o, and a 13 y/o having sex with a 22 y/o.
Of course there's a difference there, there's a far greater gap in years in those.

What I would argue is that there's a difference between a 16 y/o and a 14 y/o having intercourse vs a 25 (or more) y/o and 16 (or less) y/o having intercourse, which is (apparently) perfectly legal here in Estonia.

I don't really know where I'm trying to go with this, but I guess I'm trying to say that it's more complicated than any of us could probably think of and different countries have gone different ways in addressing the same problem. The reasons are probably often historical (for example, for Estonia getting out of Soviet occupation meant we wanted to change a lot of the laws just because we wanted them to differ from our former oppressor).

And DarkShooter, don't say your opinion doesn't matter. It always matters, be it part of the majority or minority.

If you're talking about yesterday on Bridge Crossing, then all I can see on the logs is that he got 400 ROE in 2 instances about 30 minutes apart.
Seems like 2 isolated incidents to me. While there are a few other incidents, it doesn't seem like an intentional teamkiller to me.

Hello,Before I answer your post, please let me know where you live, Country and or State, here or via PM. I want to take a look at something first.

Steve

This should answer it (provided his country is correct there and looking at his IP it probably is):

Like said before, there have been steps taken to ensure that Assist could run without Battletracker, which includes tracking both honor and kills/deaths. This would include having the info from Battletracker ported over.

Now this stuff is nowhere near ready to take over at any time, but it exists.

When you say "not the same ip" you're relying on that the person targeted is having static ip. Mac adress can't be relied on either since people actually buys new pc's. Username and country is the only thing that can tie one person to another in that case. Try doing an ip search for me, mortiferus.ares, you'll find 3 diffrent macs, over 20 diffrent ip's and loads of other usernames "linked" to me.
Well an IP match doesn't really say anything on its own. It could simply mean you share the same ISP with someone else.

While it's true you can change your MAC as well, going by MAC is by far more efficient than searching by IP.

The only thing you can do to try and recover your account is to go to http://battletracker.com/forum/index.php?form=LostPassword and request a new password for you BT username ( in your case 'n33d45p33d')
Then you have to check all your emails and see if a password pops up anywhere (maybe check the spam folder as well).

I know it might seem trivial, but I've seen people recover their accounts this way.
