Must be nice to have that much cash to blow on a computer.

Merlin, there are brands that aren't worth the scrap they're made of. Marketing can sucker you into a crappy product and if you don't know any better, you'll keep buying a new power supply every year. i.e. you get what you pay for.

I can. I've not had issues when using DD-WRT on my router. It's low end routers that cause problems. There's also NAT loopback. I'm not a networking engineer guru but I can view, ping and join my server locally or out to the internet and back in again.

I think you just ping your external IP and with port forwarding, the router sends the ping to the right internal IP.

Brussels, your whole post screams "I have mental issues". The hostility and threats are that of someone that doesn't deserve to have any social interaction. I really hope you get some professional help.

If you paid to bring AAODaily back, you wasted your money. I see nothing on the site that's contributed to helping bring AA2 back. You might have donated to Assist (last I checked, there was no credit to your name but that was a while ago) and that's great if you did. The admins and coders here are doing the real work to ensure AA is alive and thriving. Talking about leagues on Facebook doesn't do anything. You'll probably come back and say "making maps that nobody plays does nothing" and I'll agree with you but I had fun doing it. I'm not claiming to have contributed a lot to keeping AA alive but you are.

Of course I have to comment when you don't post anything helpful besides spamming links to other sites to break up the AA community and get them to visit other sites that aren't doing things to help Assist. It's also funny when you reply in a broken language being hostile while I'm posting intelligent and fact-based posts without even being mad.

and at least there will not be hack for 28 assist.

Pretty sure there was a ton of people hacking on 2.8.5. Since it's a "modern" way of hacking with DLL injection and C++ whatnots, there's actually more people that know about it so I would wager that more people would hack on 2.8. UScript is long dead for 2.5 and with such a small player base, not many bother to hack on it.

another WinBloz process...

I'm a firm believer that people that say M$, Winblowz and other attempts to make fun of a product so widely accepted actually lower their IQ every time they spew that nonsense.

It's funny too, you don't HAVE to install Dropbox, it's just recommended. You can do everything from their web interface.

Dropbox is great for personal things and file downloads where you don't have enough web space bandwidth.

Not sure why the buttons never made it on the site...

The only reason I see is that it's an updated engine and should offer better performance and newer/more realistic features. I never played 2.8 much though. It's a shame we can't get at the source code to contact Icculus to build a Linux binary for 2.8.

Console? As in playing with a gamepad? Been there, it's incredibly difficult. It'd be nice to see Linux come up in the market. What about keeping 2.5 on just for Linux and open it up more for people to mod it and whatnot?

If you Seen the detail in this Document then you would understand why it has to be Downloaded, Unfortunately none of you actually seem keen to take a look at this so a Big loss to all of you and a pity it will go to waste.

Teddy explained it above so I'll just say that I don't play or have Assist and I don't run Linux either so why would I want to look at info on how to setup a server :)

I think there's a fair bit of Linux servers out there. I would bet that the majority is Windows but Linux is probably up there.

Common sense would also say to take a map that's been balanced perfectly for years and bring it up to modern graphics like I did with Pipeline. It's still the same map, just has new tactics and more realism but everybody already knows the layout.
