Hmmm.

what does that prove? there are mods that search for a txt file with the word "poke" in it, but as long as you name the file something different, it is undetectable.

What is a Druze? Must be one of those US-Dialect English words?

I was going to ask the same thing :P What ever happened to Crusade's anti-hack mods? I'm guessing the server admins don't trust him and would rather deal with these Israelis?

Last time people used Crusade's anti hack mods, a ton of people got their passwords logged. Multiple accounts were hacked because of it. Another reason 2.5 is as good as dead is the poke commands. They are completely undetectable as long as you aren't as dumb as a rock.

It is a religious community, a bunch of Israeli hacker on 2.5. say they are Druze. The Israeli hackers are one of the many reasons the version went downhill so fast.

There's multiplayer too apparently.

The $60 price tag and the 5 hour campaign turned me away from it.

the worst thing that happend to 2.5 was assist going down, there was alot of people playng 2.5 when assis came down, let us just hope that bringing back assist will help us to get this version backl to life.

i am in for any project.

I don't want that. There is no reason we should stall the inevitable demise of 2.5. If people want to play AA, 2.8.5 is an obviously better version. Being a part of the 2.5 community, if you can call it that, I feel that it is time to let an outdated version of AA die.

The only people left on AA 2.5 are Israeli hackers, noobs that play on the UN server all day, and other people that are too foolish to know when to move on. Honestly, mAAp had very little audience when 2.5 wasn't completely dead. Nobody likes giving up something they have loved for so long, but 2.5 is as good as gone, as it should be. It would take one hell of a miracle to bring it back. I will always support you whatever project you choose to work on, I am simple just voicing my opinion.

I really like the first one but the rest just look like the Crysis I remember.

Exactly. I was a bit disappointed with the results. The new lighting, however, is superb.

I felt the urge to replay through Crysis for some reason, so I downloaded a few mods and decided to post my results here.

Let me remind you that this is only on high. I am underwhelmed by the results, although I love the new lighting they added in. It makes Crysis' lighting on par with STALKER Call of Pripyat's. Funny thing is that the game suggests very high as optimal settings but I can't play that with a decent framerate.  :-\

Sounds like a good idea, but the only concern I have is that I don't really think there is a big custom map crowd on 2.8.5. I mean, 2.8.5 isn't as popular as it used to be. I wouldn't want this to turn into another case where nobody plays the maps.  :-X

Hardware/Software / Re: AMD ditching the "ATI" brand
« on: Monday, August 30, 2010, 19:08:53 PM »
You know, this gets me thinking... nVidia always boasts about GPU computing and whatnot... why hasn't AMD pioneered this? They make both the CPU and the GPU (and chipset) in a lot of computers, why not an all in one? Like 5 GPU cores and 1 CPU core in a chip? Maybe they are and haven't publicized it yet.

There is actually info out there about AMD doing just that.

From the link I posted.

The other reason behind this shedding of the ATI brand is new products. Specifically Fusion, which brings together a melding of CPU and GPU.  The first of these products, codenamed Ontario, will feature two low-power “Bobcat” CPUs combined with a Radeon GPU. This is expected to ship later this year. The more powerful Llano which features a quad-core Phenom II with a GPU is on track for the first half of 2011.

Hardware/Software / AMD ditching the "ATI" brand
« on: Monday, August 30, 2010, 17:14:41 PM »
It seems that AMD is getting rid of its ATI brand in favor of a more central naming system. Future graphics card products will be under the name AMD Radeon and AMD FirePro. Not a big change, but it is bound to create some confusion. I say it is about time, carrying two names seems useless.

I saw on X-fire that you were playing the demo. I thought you had the actual game?
