No comment on the original post?

I do not believe sports are art. I will just leave it at that.

Topic split.

Killaman, that's cool and all. I played football in the streets while waiting for the morning school bus in middle school. I wouldn't play it now but that's just me. I see nothing wrong with this, everybody enjoys doing different things. I just can't imagine enjoying watching someone else do something, especially something you could do yourself.

Do you not enjoy watching movies? TV shows? It is all entertainment. I enjoy watching my favorite team play football more than any movie I've ever seen.

I wish I could come up with a deep and intellectual explanation of what art is to me, but I've got nothing.

So I'll just leave the dictionary.com definition.

–noun
1.
the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.

Laugh all you want but its true. At least for me it is.

And be honest here. Do any of you have some thing that you love so much that even though it causes you pain every single time you do it, you still want to do it? I'm not talking just little scrapes and bruises, but sprains, breaks, concussions and the like. Real injury's not little piddly crap.

No. I would not enjoy doing something where I physically hurt myself all the time. I play football with some friends every weekend, but I usually only get scrapes and whatever. Nothing that is very harmful.

If EA put as much time into this as they did MOHA, it could be pretty good.

I don't think so. If it doesn't have a huge online multiplayer, it won't sell well. Maybe it could be made as a $20 PC exclusive game, but the console kids won't but it unless it has a great online multiplayer and is hyped to hell and back. Oh, an they will buy anything with "call of Duty" on it, which is owned by Activision. The game would be doomed.

wanna see a ww1 shooter where they recreat the atosmphere of trench warfare perfectly

trying to sneek through no mans land at night to find a place to set up your snipers perch, being in huge, frontal assaults into enemy mg fire trying to break through to the next trench line, hitting enemy flanks at nightime trying to gather intel/rescue pow's

if u wanted to spice things up u could have an observation balloon (yes they used hot air balloons to spot for artillery, observe troops and spot submarines) being shot down, and trying to get back to his lines through enemy lines, in the end to get shot by his own troops, or shot in the back my germans right before he makes it

no ones down ww1 so its the perfect opportunity

The game wouldn't be overly action packed or a run n' gun shooter so nobody would buy it.

I didn't bash football at all. In fact if you play football, that's great. But watching it...it....whats the fucking point? Really? Please explain the point. Cause I still don't get it. I don't get the "team spirit" shit either. Why do I want team A to win more than team B? Why do I care?

I can't tell you why you should care, nor can I make you "get it." It is what it is, if you don't like it, fine, but others do.

One: Atlanta falcons game, (this is when I found out in addition to time outs they get to stand around doing nothing during commercial breaks.) *Also when I stopped watching football

Two:Atlanta Bulldogs vs MICHIGAN.

Well, you can't really count commercial breaks against going to a game because they are also on TV. Sports are a business too, they have to make money. Also, I'm guessing that you meant the Georgia Bulldogs instead of Atlanta.

You stopped watching football because you didn't like the commercial breaks or am I missing the reason? Please elaborate.

I hate it when you say this so I came up with a little similar test.
Killaman, I'm assuming you would call yourself straight (sexually). But how do you know if you haven't fucked and/or been fucked by a guy?

It's the same thing really. You don't have to go to a football game to know you won't enjoy it. You don't have to waste time trying something just to find out if you'll like it or not.

You missed my point. What I said was mainly to challenge Knight's statement of "a bunch of drunk, screaming people," there are not a lot of drunk people at college football games and I wanted to know what games he has been to that have been like that. I was never saying that he should enjoy it.

A bunch of drunk, screaming people do not an atmosphere make.

Now there is a quote.

On topic, some people like concerts some don't. I thought I would hate it and got dragged to one and found out that I liked it. Its all about personal preference.

So you like concerts, but are against sporting events? And how many football games have you been to? I just want to know how you formed your statement.

u pay to watch a sport people watch on tv for free, only diffrence is they are on a comfy couch, drinking and eating what ever they want, wearing ugg boots and a shower robe, comfortable as fuck

There is no substitute for being at a big game. Watching it at home is simply not the same. You don't get the experience unless you go to the game.

What makes it different than any other state? Don't all states have a team of some form or another?

All states do have college football teams. but Michigan is one of the elite schools and has been around forever. Just to give you a picture of how big it is, The University of Michigan has the most college football wins in the entire country. It costs around $60 just to get into a game against an awful team. Michigan Stadium is also the largest football stadium in the U.S. (including NFL stadiums) as it seats over 106,000 people which is always sold out. There is an extremely long waiting list for season tickets, my friend's family has been on it for 8 years.

It's not just the University of Michigan, a lot of big universities that have good athletics programs are the same way. You really have to live there to understand how big it is.

The Detroit Lions on the other hand...........

What may have gone wrong, I wonder...?

May I enquire, what is with "Michigan" everywhere? Hardcore fan?

I really like the University of Michigan and I might be going there for college. You don't understand how big Michigan football is until you live here.
