I accept it fine. I understand that people watch sports and enjoy it. I just could never do it. And its the sign of a close minded person to stoop to insults.

"stooping" to insults means i'm close minded? If you post something that makes no sense whatsoever, what am I supposed to say? That you are smart?

Just because lots of people do some thing doesn't make it right. That's my point. And I can see you are too close minded to understand my points so I'm done with this thread. And that's not an insult, billions of people are close minded.

I'm close minded when you can't even accept that people enjoy watching sports? I never said you needed to like sports, I only stated the reasons why people like it. How the hell is that being close minded? You're a complete idiot, plain and simple.

Billions of people are religious.....

Please don't tell me that you just compared religion to sports. *facepalm*

I was in the multiplayer beta at various stages including closed beta, from closed beta 1 to 2 it barely changed. In this stage of the game it sucked balls. It was horrible. When it went in to open beta it still was pretty shit but I had some fun. I would definately not pay money to play it.

This. The multiplayer is so bland and uncreative. They just took a bunch of different stuff from other games and threw it into a mess of a multiplayer. You know it is bad when you feel like you have already played the game before on the first play.

This is probably the most meaningless thing. A LOT of students move to go to a certain college.

I wouldn't say a lot. Most students go to college in-state because out of state costs twice as much as in-state. I am also not just talking about college sports, but professional sports too. The Detroit Lions represent Detroit, and in turn, Michigan in the Nation Football League.

Watching sports is no different than watching movies or TV shows.

The world series is going on an the giants are in it...they represent my home state. But they in no way shape or form represent me. I have nothing to do with how they play or why so they cannot represent me. Nor do I really care.

I never said you HAVE to care, but a lot of people do. Millions of people in the U.S. alone watch football every weekend. There has to be SOMETHING that attracts them to watch and cheer for a team.

also, Giants will win in 6.

Oh I do, plenty for comedic, suspense and drama values just to name a few. How is it that football ranks that high? Without trying to sound like I obviously don't enjoy watching football, what makes it so enjoying for you?

Maybe the surprise of not knowing what play is going to be done next?
Maybe being able to shout at the ref/coach for doing the wrong thing?

You know what players are good to begin with, you have an expectation of what team will do what as far as how far they'll make it.

Not at all. That's the beauty of any sport. You don't know who will win. There may be a favorite, but come game time, favorites don't matter anymore.  Upsets happen all the time. Most of the time, a game can change rather quickly. There are a ton of different strategies to use. There is a lot of brains involved in sports. It is not just how good the players are, but how they are managed and the plays that are called. You never know what could happen next. There is always that big play or goal that gets everyone excited. There is the fact that your team is representing YOUR city/state. I could go on and on but my point is that there are plenty of things that make watching sport's games great.

If you really think about it, sports cover a lot of movie genres as well. There is always some drama between rivals, after huge wins or after a crushing loss. Players often bring comedy into sports. There is always suspense in every game. Sports cover a lot of the bases.

Get involved bitch. You're sure passionate about the other thread. Disagree and prove your point while being respectful. That's what debating is all about.

mans, maybe art isn't the right word. Maybe creativity or something else?

I don't have a strong opinion about it.

No comment on the original post?

I do not believe sports are art. I will just leave it at that.

Topic split.

Killaman, that's cool and all. I played football in the streets while waiting for the morning school bus in middle school. I wouldn't play it now but that's just me. I see nothing wrong with this, everybody enjoys doing different things. I just can't imagine enjoying watching someone else do something, especially something you could do yourself.

Do you not enjoy watching movies? TV shows? It is all entertainment. I enjoy watching my favorite team play football more than any movie I've ever seen.

I wish I could come up with a deep and intellectual explanation of what art is to me, but I've got nothing.

So I'll just leave the dictionary.com definition.

–noun
1.
the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.

Laugh all you want but its true. At least for me it is.

And be honest here. Do any of you have some thing that you love so much that even though it causes you pain every single time you do it, you still want to do it? I'm not talking just little scrapes and bruises, but sprains, breaks, concussions and the like. Real injury's not little piddly crap.

No. I would not enjoy doing something where I physically hurt myself all the time. I play football with some friends every weekend, but I usually only get scrapes and whatever. Nothing that is very harmful.

If EA put as much time into this as they did MOHA, it could be pretty good.

I don't think so. If it doesn't have a huge online multiplayer, it won't sell well. Maybe it could be made as a $20 PC exclusive game, but the console kids won't but it unless it has a great online multiplayer and is hyped to hell and back. Oh, an they will buy anything with "call of Duty" on it, which is owned by Activision. The game would be doomed.

wanna see a ww1 shooter where they recreat the atosmphere of trench warfare perfectly

trying to sneek through no mans land at night to find a place to set up your snipers perch, being in huge, frontal assaults into enemy mg fire trying to break through to the next trench line, hitting enemy flanks at nightime trying to gather intel/rescue pow's

if u wanted to spice things up u could have an observation balloon (yes they used hot air balloons to spot for artillery, observe troops and spot submarines) being shot down, and trying to get back to his lines through enemy lines, in the end to get shot by his own troops, or shot in the back my germans right before he makes it

no ones down ww1 so its the perfect opportunity

The game wouldn't be overly action packed or a run n' gun shooter so nobody would buy it.

I didn't bash football at all. In fact if you play football, that's great. But watching it...it....whats the fucking point? Really? Please explain the point. Cause I still don't get it. I don't get the "team spirit" shit either. Why do I want team A to win more than team B? Why do I care?

I can't tell you why you should care, nor can I make you "get it." It is what it is, if you don't like it, fine, but others do.

One: Atlanta falcons game, (this is when I found out in addition to time outs they get to stand around doing nothing during commercial breaks.) *Also when I stopped watching football

Two:Atlanta Bulldogs vs MICHIGAN.

Well, you can't really count commercial breaks against going to a game because they are also on TV. Sports are a business too, they have to make money. Also, I'm guessing that you meant the Georgia Bulldogs instead of Atlanta.

You stopped watching football because you didn't like the commercial breaks or am I missing the reason? Please elaborate.
