News / Re: [Video Tutorial] How to nade on Urban Assault

Very nice video Ganja!

Like I told you on TS, It's hard at times to do it on the go when you don't have a lot of time to position yourself as well as your hand correctly, but like you said, given a lot of practice one can master next to anything.

Since you only asked for 38 honor, I went ahead and gave it to you.

From what I know, AA (or rather the UE) is designed to run on one processor, so dual, quad (or however many) cores will not help you performance-wise.

I'm pretty sure your rig is a complete overkill performance wise for this game and engine.

As for the bad performance in game even though you have pleanty of resources left over, all I can think of is that the game engine is slow and it might be that the game is modifying enough stuff for it to not play 100% smooth on any rig you give it. I simply don't know.
What I do know, is that I've played AA on a number of computers (both laptops and PCs) and I've never seen a computer that never struggles with it. My FPS could be max all the time, but still it will freeze for half a second every couple of minutes.

All in all, I would blame the engine and the game, but I think the performance was increased in later versioons where directx 9 was usable. Not sure if this was the cause or something else, but I've seen a lot of people say later versions were smoother on high performance machines.

Drama & Spam / Re: Apology Statement

I do agree with Sherm that apologizing is not an easy thing to do for most people and I applaud you for that, Army.

Whether the people you're apologizing to (in person) forgive you or not, I don't know, though.

Done!

Hopefully ELiZ will have some time soon to get the actibot emails up and when that happens, users will be linked to the Getting Started page where both videos will be. I think only those two videos are necessary, any other tutorial videos can be extra.
I agree. It goes through the essentils pretty well.

Oh and very nice job on the Getting started page! I like it! :)

Where at, on the Getting Started page? Gotta be more specific Teddy!
Yes. I meant on the getting started page.

I would like it if it had the first video embedded and then the 2nd as well, both there in the begging, but still leave the text and pictures (I would guess some people prefer those).

I would just hate for all your hard work to go to waste and an embedded video would make it easier for users to see it.

PS.
I think we should also add a link to the youtube channel to Assit's ReadMe (the one that ships with it) as well as to the installation once it's complete (something like 'If this is your first time installing Assist, you can go to www.youtube.com/user/AAO25Assist and we'll help you get started').

What do you mean? Embed the video?

Also, I'm uploading the next video for Account & Training.
Yeah that's what I meant.

Done.
I don't know how easy or hard it would be to implement a youtube box like here on the forums? Would draw ones eye better IMHO.

We can't delete accounts, Sherminator.

If it was a 2nd account created, it was refused and will not be able to be played on.and that's it.

Merlin is right, someone should add the link to the video on the Getting Started page and 'alternatively' leave the text with the pictures.

Anti-Cheat / Re: int tk
« on: Tuesday, July 29, 2014, 06:13:13 AM »
servers can ban him if they want, but assist will only ban for repeated offenses in which they need to be shown its not tolerated.
That's why I was hesitant to post at first as well. I don't wanna ban someone from the entire game for a one-time thing.

I checked and this guy had a one-time occurance of massive TKs where he got ~3000 ROE.

While it's pittiful that he did so, I don't really like to ban the one-time offenders, even if he did kill the entire team (which is obviously bad!)...

I don't know, what do some others think?

There's nothing wrong with the recording, it's perfectly understandable even though it does have a little static.

I've posed this question before and will again:
Whose AA takes up less than 2GB?
Mine is 4.64 GB and that includes ~300 MB of SS and ~400 MB of demorecs, which means that the game itself is almost 4 GB instead of the 1.95 GB it says on installation. Thats twice as much as we're saying you need.

Now I'm not saying it takes too much room, I'm saying it says it takes 2 GB, while in reality seems to take 4 GB. This is a problem especially if you want to install it on the C:\ drive, which (at least for me) is a system drive only and doesn't have much excess space.

Depending on where you are, the sourceforge server might not be as good as one would hope.

All in all you will still need to download the game, though.
