General Chat / Re: Daily, weekly, monthly "top" lists, clan, players and so on
« on: Monday, August 26, 2013, 19:17:33 PM »
I cobbled this together;
http://aao25.com/stats/top_player.php

The information output is in this order:
Player Name
Total (leader + goal points)
Honor
Goal Points
Leader Points
KIA
Enemy

Right now, it just grabs all the players currently in-game, grabs their scores and then sorts them all to pull the highest scoring Total. Not a great way to pull the data since if a new match starts, they're back to 0 points. To perform a real top list with multiple time lengths, it would basically mean building a tracker. If that ever happens, it should be easy. Right now though, this is what we got. Good enough to replace "Latest Member" in the stats bar?

Course, the last thing I want to do is to discourage someone from contributing to this project. I guess the best thing to start with is, what would you like to do?

I understand your suspicions, but believe me, I just want to help. Give me some time, I will write something for you.

I've got nothing against you and I'm generally pretty trusting. Problem is, there's too much risk for no reward (since we don't know what you're capable of. Right now, it's a lose-lose scenario. See what I'm getting at?

That's exactly what we did. The news post for Beta 0.30. All they had to do was download a new version of Assist that would download the necessary beta files. They didn't need a secondary installation or anything, maybe 10MB in files and join the dedicated beta server. I think there were 10 of us that did but I never saw anyone else on.

You should take your times to test new stuff before final release - if not, a situation like this will not be the last ...

I've said it many times, we do test but there's only so much a couple of us can do. The last major SAI bug was only replicable in a server with a lot of people. The issue never came up in our limited testing. We've asked the users to test but the last public beta wasn't used much.

because I can't give it to you.

How do we know that you are who you say you are? I mean, there's a LOT of trust with the sources of Assist, a lot of private things. For all we know, you could be one of the lead coders at a paid cheat site...

from the top of my head i guess MP_Shipment has rain for sure.  :P

and a very noizy and anoying backgroundsound, could someone lower the sound i'm pretty sure that the reason no 1 like the map.

Shipment the most laggest map in the game, it could be caused of the rain and the texture, or because its a small map and lots of players playing it, anyways can you guys get rid of it, or fix it?

I really wonder if you guys have experienced real life at all. Have you ever heard a downpour of rain? Compare the map's rain sound with footsteps and gunfire, it's pretty realistic. Don't bitch about it just because you can't hear where the enemy is, that's the point.

As for lag/FPS, you must have an ancient computer because I've played Shipment on varying hardware (currently with a 5 year old GPU) and FPS doesn't drop. We were playing it the other day on the dev server and nobody complained about any kind of lag there either. Even Possessed was on there...

I was actually thinking this before I saw your post. I agree.

Right, but I've changed the wall outside and it would be nice to have inside the building.

Best would be if you can get viewport to the same location and rotation time after time, allowing 1 ss to be taken of floor1, and then a second of underground, then you can merge the 2 in Photoshop.

I'll give it a go for Pipeline so don't bother with that one yet. I haven't even finished the lighting in the tunnels yet.

Yea. You also have to set CanRotate or whatever the variable is to no in the editor.

*EDIT*
Nevermind, that doesn't exist. But, you could limit rotation to 1 degree by putting 1 in the LimitPitch and LimitYaw boxes.

I have an idea, what about using the Viewpoint but in-game? If you start a LAN server but don't pick a team, you can browse around. Delete the other Viewpoints, hide your hud, turn on Anti-Aliasing and setres 1024x1024 in the console. Course, you'd have to hide stuff in the editor and then build the map but it would yield a pretty good shot. I might play with that for Pipeline.

I removed the lights in the room with the dark wall, rebuilt all lighting and the other 3 walls were still lit up. It wasn't until I removed the lights in the room with the vending machines that they returned to normal.

Bug Reports / Re: Update 7.44 & SF training........
« on: Sunday, August 25, 2013, 21:18:47 PM »
There's an issue where if you join a server that has SAI enabled, the regular compass gets disabled. Then if you go to training, the SAI isn't loaded because that's a server-side mod and the compass is still disabled. I believe ELiZ finished up a fix, Assist just has to be updated which will happen soon.
