be sure you have all updates of win7. then look also into your logs of win with "run eventvwr". watch for lots of errors (hopefully none). delete all system, applications and securites entries there after read them.

configure your windows explorer so that you can see hidden files. then go to the assist folder and delete all of them at
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\25Assist\

download the full installation of aa2assist again from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/aa25assist/files/Binaries/25Assist.zip/download

run it with administrator rights! it will take some time to do the installation. watch for correct installation (no breaks).
after that, run assist - also with admin rights. tell me, whats happend, but before watch the "eventvwr" again and look again for errors or warnings. if there are some errors, tell me what they say.

btw: you did open all the needed ports on your firewall - new installation of windows means new firewall rules..

you can play this game even when authorization is down.

but you will get no honors for playing it and all players will have 15 honors. do not care about, this is only for the moment. you will have your honors back when auth will get up again

first look for all servers flaged with something like no auth needed, or Login or.. in its server names.

it is a hidden folder, so go to your windows explorer and change the settings so that you can see hidden folder also.

then go to the 25Assist  \System folder and start (double klick) the ArmyOps.exe

if done, you will see the main menu of America's Army 2. here you have to open the console - but you will have no Botton to select so. just press ~ or ! or the key located to open the console.

you will see the console prompt like  >
now start the game with the address of the related server, like:

> open 178.196.49.30:5716

you can join for sure now:

178.196.49.30:1716 - SF Extraction
178.196.49.30:8816 - Pipeline

i hope that auth system will go up soon again. until then and for the ones which can not stay without aa2, maybe this is a way to play still the game.

i am almost sure that is has something to do with your router settings, specialy with the NAT-Table entries.
look at this link and try the NAT and maybe SpecialApplications part. but for sure you do have to make entries at the PORT MAPPING section.

i do have some servers running on my home pc (server). my global ip is 178.196.49.30. internal ip of the server is 192.168.1.61

so i have to do a NAT entry like:

UDP 1716-1718 for ip 178.196.49.30 (global), port mapping to internal ip (LAN) 192.168.1.61

then i can play from every pc on the internal net 192.168.1.x, also i can play on the server itself, with time to time "alien warning" on it. but it works fine.
