I don't know about ToS:
iv.takes "screen shots"  of the Licensee's  computer screen at any given time while assist is running without prior notice to the Licensee.

Everything I agree with. Most of the time I live assist open and also  I don't what people to know what is in my desktop or what I'm doing on my desktop. Sorry but to me this a little too invasive for me. If the other three things mention couldn't catch them, why would you think this will. Until then, I can't pull the trigger to agree the the ToS and play AA again. Well thanks for the good times.

Carlidan_{PoT} or FlashGreanade_{PoT}

Guess I will see you guys on aa4 or not.  :?

Thank you for proving to me that the TOS works. I'm sorry that you disagree with this specific part but it really is a necessary part of the anti-cheat system.

Didn't work.  Initially I edited System/aa25srv.ini for IdlePlayerKickRounds, FFScoreLimit, MaxAdmins, MaxSpectators and copied aa25srv.ini into the System/server folder which worked before. I see now that /server/aa25srv.ini gets put in each time server restarts - so maybe it's comparing the System one to the System/server one. If so, these items cannot be configured anymore?

It's looking like other servers are having this issue as well. Might be a problem with Assist. Could you try wiping one of your server's installations and starting fresh again?

Assist has overwritten .ini files for some time now. On a dedicated server, I'm not sure what is to be edited or not.

well it wasn't SOTChatLogger.u or openslots.u, removed those both from System and from the .ini
Something is borked, the linux server directories were essentially unchanged since assist went down.  None of the servers were configured for cheats or mods before other than SOTChatLogger.u and openslots.u
It's not a mod, since now none are configured outside of what assist uses.

It has to be something in the config/files. dtruesdale has a Linux server up and other servers are popping up.

Shad, perhaps kill Assist and delete the aa25svr.ini?

dtruesdale, your query isn't getting to the server then. It has to go out and then come back into your external IP address. I run DD-WRT and aside from opening ports, didn't change anything.

DO you think it might be possible to get a setup in Assist to connect to local, especially for thos eo fo us who run server on a server in our local lan. Would be a big help f we could use assist to connect.

I'm betting that's a Linux-only problem OR a problem with your firewalls/router. I ran a test server on my local server and connected to it to play with ELiZ earlier. Worked fine.

Have fun everyone.

In the next few days, I'll be fixing up things in the background that was not completely setup for the re release of the Auth Service.
It is things that don't affect you as players, but will improve things security wise on the server.
I'll try to make eventual downtime of the auth service at times where there are as few people logged in as possible,

Everybody give this man a round of applause.

News / Assist is back online!

With a LOT of work from ELiZ, a new version of Assist has been rolled out. This version reverts changes that were made in previous versions. Although we have tested this version, there may be unforeseen issues so please post them in this thread.

There is a new Terms of Service Agreement that you must read and agree to in order to start Assist. This is only shown once and every time Assist gets updated. Please read it to understand what Assist does and what is and is not allowed.

Thank you all for your overwhelming support and words of encouragement!

Visit the Info page on this site for a download link.

NOTES:
Server owners will have to re-download dedicated binaries to update Assist. These can be found on the Info page as well.

Bugs/Fix
On Linux you will have to set the flag to allow it to run, same for both client and server

I came back to read the excuses that the admins would come up with. Its pretty fucked up when an update is made so that these cock suckers can have access to anyone's computer.

1. You're off-topic.
2. If you can't understand what happened and don't agree with it, why are you still here?

82nd isn't running a bridge map...

It doesn't matter! When you try to join a server and you have wrong files, you won't see the error reason because the "connecting to,..." message covers that. But if you open Bridge (or any other map) offline first and THEN try to join the server, your problem file will be displayed.
