AA medic training was great, u actually learnt first aid, course not things like cpr that u need proper training for many other usual things.
but the jump trainings where weird, I dont think theres a way to fail them tbh

and enjoy ur sf e&e training

Escape and Evade...most of the other trainings are really easy or at least take a little time but E&E was much worst  :o i recall taking at the very least 30 mins to complete it.

If you know for sure that your UDP 1716-1717 are open you can still disable the ports test by unchecking the related option in the Server Options tab (left bottom button -> Disable port testing to external IP).

lol sorry :D

with so less uploadspeed. i would say dont put more than 8 max 10 people

ps like that map

It's a test server, i'm not going to run it more than 2 or maybe 3 hours each day. I noticed many players like those custom maps tho (and that's a good thing - makes for a different gameplay). About the upload limit, i will be setting it up to 10 players max.

P.s. ty jonny :)

Sound like your router does not support NAT Loopback.
It is sending data from outside to your server, but data coming from inside your network is not getting looped back into the server.
google your router with NAT Loopback to see if there is a setting you can turn on.
Try using AA menu, opening console and then type open 127.0.0.1:1716 as a temp measure.

i already tried accessing while referring to it as localhost with that specific command but it didn't worked. Well, at least someone plays on mine server ^^ i'm pretty happy about that because the server will just work for some testing purpose, and anyway i only have 320kbits upload bandwidth (which often happens to be even lower...thanks Telecom Italia for bringing us such marvellous speeds...)

Yep i have them open, except for 28910 (Gamespy) and 20048 (DCDS). Master Browser, DCDS and authentication don't work no more.

As much as I hate honor, this is the most reasonable.

Battletracker had honour points information up to a month or so ago, it was discarded but they used to track that too (they tracked the pure honour level and even the points still needed for reaching the next level, but the latter wasn't tracked precisely imho).

really? i still go inside with normal AA interface????
only for MAAP maps i need assist

If i am correct the browser still works but it asks you to login (which isn't possible anymore) therefore you should join a server by console command (not that great). AA25 assist is pretty handy and has a better GUI than the official client (which is many years old anyway). I discovered that the assist also checks for the right UDP/TCP ports to be open if you want to host a server.

Just to toss it out there, I've (painstakenly) gotten the old mAAp forums running again. I know there was a lot of good ideas on there, not just for maps. It should be setup as read-only so don't try to go and register and post, it's not meant as an active forum, just a data archive.

So, here it is:
http://maap.natescomp.com

I did this because I know I sent a letter out to Pragmatic and I believe to some devs or public relations people at America's Army. Maybe it's possible to get in touch with the right people and rebuild the old game with the right tools. Worth a shot.

Perhaps a starting point with THE guy that ported 2.5 to linux and mac...
https://bugzilla.icculus.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=America's%20Army
http://twitter.com/icculus

Thank you for taking back the mAAp forum, i'm pretty interested about custom map making and since AAmissionDepot went down (they stopped paying that domain months way before shutting down the auth/honour services!) a lot of custom related content has gone.

I took a look at Gordon's work and i was impressed. This guy ported many of the most important titles that can be played on Linux.

p.s. a guy from our clan got some kind of a response from AA official developers (from Phoenix), still it honestly isn't that much:

Koden, it's totally not because you have an AMD CPU. They're just as capable as Intel :) Some Northbridge overclocking would help over-all system speed. I would bet it's your 9600GT though.

Yeah i'm not that cpu racist yet to underestimate my little 620. Still i was expecting RO to run a little better. Anyway, i've tried to bump speeds a little and on medium it is fairly decent in smaller maps. The 9600 struggles but keeps rocking - i'm trying several graphics settings to see what fits best. Oh, and i've overclocked here both Cpu and northbridge, i set the Athlon to run between 3.3 @ 1.375 (for a daily use - kept a setting like this for some months in the past, it's stable and works just fine - on the stock cooler). I don't overclock the poor 9600 because she's already short on memory (at least one memory chip seems to have at least a small kind of damage). To my defence i gotta say that i've bought it used at 35 euros :P it was a decent bargain back then. And it works pretty much fine when not overclocked.

About the game, i've started learning something, coming from games that are short-ranged action based it feels wierd but after you get that there's a truly different pace it makes some sense. I agree about the need for communicating because in a team where there's no coordinating having a tactic is going to be pretty hard - unless you have a smaller map where you're going to be able to cover a good part of it by your own (e.g. something like Hospital, the Bridge or even Pipeline from AA2). Something i miss in fact is recognizing key ways/places that are important to control for both tactics and mission completing.
