Heres something interesting to think about. We've gone so far into "technology" that we can't really go back. The only way we can improve renewable energy creation is by still using the hazardous shit we use today. Sure, its possible to drop everything and go to renewable energy that doesn't take R&D heavy amounts of coal/gas/fuel burning to produce the parts, such as geothermal and wind energy's, but thats not really enough to keep the entire world going especially since theres a lot of people who arn't going to just stop using computers/etc. Right now we kind of need to keep using this hazardous shit to produce very efficient sources or renewable energy such as solar and even something as epic as changing magnetic flux energy. After we get there, we throw away all of the previous sources of energy and put the new sources in the spot light. I envision many, many large stretches of vibrant green grass fields; very beautiful.

While this has nothing to do with crunching, I think this is more important to read than what Stanford has to say.

Also, I dislike nuclear energy.

No one responded to this, but I think that its cool you can use the hot water for something. Thats a pretty neat system. That might be the future of computer aided homes, who knows!

I laughed at the monitoring software. That one is going to a flop like Microsoft Bob. Theres no way Im going to have some half-ass written software constantly scanning my hard drives.

But then again i do dual boot linux, so its fairly easy for me to lock access to the windows partition =)

If you can copy something, you can also do it by yourself. Try it d00d, because that's a nice drawing.

I'm not sure what this means.

Serif Font: Times New Roman.
Sans-Serif Font: Arial.
That's interesting, because I only have the default and special unicode fonts on my linux. I think they are just called Serif, Sans Serif, DejaVu Sans, and Code2000. Theres a few others that I can't remember but I don't think I use them.

btw, fonts like Times and Arial are supposed to be really expensive proprietary fonts.

I would believe so. I guess it'd make more sense the Windows character map doesn't display all 100,000 something characters in Unicode considering so many of them are obscure ones used in Latex or engineering stuff. Linux just makes more sense most of the time, no one really is going to question information there lol.

I'm also pretty surprised that Arial can display all these characters, unless firefox is switching fonts for displaying this stuff?
BTW, what font are you using on linux in the browser?
