The plan is to have the deadline for the Beta tommorrow at 2PM(CET).
Any changes to the content on the dropbox will have to be done before then.

So mappers, report that you are done with your changes here.

myLevel sucks because then it can't be used in other maps, unless you add it to that maps' myLevel which makes for 2x size. It's fine if it's ONLY stuff that goes into that map but it would be nice to be flexible.

I don't have a mic so getting on TS wouldn't be very productive :)

I was thinking of creating packages with all the missing 2.8.5 objects, but for just this example it was quicker to do it like this.

The map is <60 MB when all is inserted, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Dont worry about TS, I only use it for text chat, I dont use a mic either.

I was planning on that.
I got all the resources used that is not in 2.5.0 moved into mylevel, so now it loads in the 2.5.0 client.
Can you come to the TS(ts.aa25.org) so we can discuss whats next?

Not sure if mAAp has this or not. But could one of are talented map peeps make Steamroller?  Was one my fav maps on 2.8 but was never really played cause it was hard on some computers but with 2.5 graphics everyone should be able to play it. Would it be to much work and a waste of time I hope not.

Why not make em compulsory? I mean it would be better for everybody no?

Problem is that we would have to put in quite a few hours to make it work.

Modify the auth to handle this.
Modify all the training maps.
Modify the Scripts in various U files.

And probably more that I can’t think of right now


But you are right; it would be nice to make it work.

ELiZ, can you please add some text to the Trainings tab in Assist? Or perhaps a pop-up box whenever someone clicks to load a training map? Something like "Training is not longer necessary to play online. You cannot save your progress. It is only here for practice.".

I dont see any value in the trainings, perhaps we should get rid of them?
Or at least remove the tab from Assist?

I noticed that as well, it seems to default to the latest file uploaded to that repo, in this the map pack for 7.20
No idea how to fix it, will solve itself when the Beta is over in a few days

My rig is a Quad 3.2(6GB), so I'm good when it comes to rendering.

But here is MP_Pipeline in 3ds Max(2010) format if you want to render yourself.

Only real error I can see, is the texture T-mAAp_Pack_6.oil_tower_final.pipe_joint.dds that are applied to all tanks look very strange.


Problem with rendering AA Exported Maps in 3ds max that there is no concept of Zones.
So all lights affect all surfaces, I've included most light in the scene, but I recommend that you turn them off/delete them if you some renderings.

This is with the roof still on.
Resolution is so low that removing the roof will not make it clearer.



Terrain smoothing is a bit blocky, you probably can make the picture better in UnrealEd

Running Os X mountain lion as a host with virtualbox running both Win XP Pro/SP3 and Ubuntu 12.10 (one at a time). AA 25 Assist will not run in either, my logfile posted above is from the Ubuntu VM, looks like a problem with OpenGL. For some reason, when AA25 errors out on Windows XP, it does not append to the logfile (armyops.log), this file is listed at 0kb.

Your best option to get AA to run is to dual boot to a real Ubuntu installation (not running in a vm).
This is not my area of expertice, there are people here that knows a whole lot more than me about this.
