Bug Reports / Re: Kicked for mAAp files

the maap files in aa2 is for offline, like checking out spankys newest and unreleased pipe build, or unreleased 2.5 rummage to look for errors etc

Yeah i understood, i just meant to say that you need to get them out of the related texture/meshes/etc AA f olders when you start playing online (on server that has pb enabled).

Bug Reports / Re: PB Logs ignoreing MD5

I used to see a lot of those, even when the official authorization was on, i think it's just due to the way Punkbuster works. However in the specific case (Scumina) sometimes it happens due to a file being corrupted. 9013 error related kicks instead happens when the PunkBuster server attempts to query the client, but receives no response.

Btw i think ACI has a whole list of the Punkbuster violations with the whole degrees of violation severity described, if i'll the link i'll post it.

A MD5 tool mismatch is raised when the MD5 (message digest 5) hash of a file on the clients computer does not match a preset MD5 hash for the file, specified by the server's administrator. If the MD5 hash of the file matches a hash of a known cheat file, the account will be banned.Example:
[MM.DD.YYYY HH:MM:SS] VIOLATION (MD5TOOL) #9002: NAME (slot #X) MD5Tool Mismatch: * (len=*) [GUID(-) PL.AY.ER.IP:PORT]
Sometimes Bannable

If anything i think a little more light wouldn't hurt, spaces are tight and it's not a terribly bright map.

This was funny  :D and you can find a smaller size copy of the Yeti in the same position in another mAAp map (PBball, over assault left side).

Teh Yeti's 2: Dinner time!

Not really. The engine has it's limits and we can't go past that without problems. mAAp Pipeline is more demanding than Bridge but it still will only use a single-core CPU and a middle-range or even low-range GPU. Possibly 2GB of RAM if you close all other programs as well.

About game performance, i don't know if it has ever been done a performance comparison between AA2.5 and 2.8.5 but i'm quite sure that 2.5 uses less memory to run. Also, i happened to encounter memory leak issues under 2.8.5 while i hadn't any with 2.5. Another good comparison might be done with the graphics (sharper in the old version). I think that for many reasons 2.5 works better than more recent versions.

Back in time i remember of a couple 28/30 slot servers. The thing is you need a lot of bandwidth to fully cover 30 players on any map (it's also quite of a bit of server load)

Bug Reports / Re: Inappropriate honor in-game
« on: Friday, January 13, 2012, 17:31:49 PM »
If i remember correctly, AA displays medic and other badges in different column by design. Though i cant remember if it used to cover the last digit.

Once (or rather until authentication was still on) there was a whole numbers of simbols, one for the US army developers, one for the Evenbalance (punkbuster) members, one for navy members, one for retired soldiers and such, and so on. They all were exactly next to the honor level on the right. However that icon overlay appears likely due to the resolution.

put my server on there last night and got a few people to join before they all wanted to go to shipment. everyone loves shipment for some reason so maybe you could head in the small maps direction. but anyways, just wanted to point out that some textures on the walls could use a little fix.

By today almost everyone played Call of Duty at least once...they want some quick action shooting, ability to respawn and such, meh :( . Truth is also that there aren't many players like it used to be, and 10-12 players tend to get lost in most maps.

I think its a good idea, cant people give those a nudge who wont use assist on their servers and convince them too

I think that for some it might just be the habit of setting up the server in the same way for ages. Sure thing it's better let em understand the Assist way it's better  :)

mAAp Project / Re: Map with Karma physics
« on: Friday, January 13, 2012, 04:37:15 AM »
I went and found Spankyville since it was more of a test than any other map. There's only 1 spawn point, 5 AI guys and a ton of Karma objects not to mention max'd lighting and other neat stuff. I think it will be our proof-of-concept map to test and implement stuff for other maps. Jonny might even add a button in the training menu or something :)

With AI guys you mean something you could interact with or would it even be possible to have AI enemy entities? I loved Coop gameplay back in 2.8.5  :D . I was told (by an AA community mod- Frankof) that for that kind of AI an Autodesk plugin called Kynapse was used.

Jonny once told me not to swap too quickly from a mAAp map to a normal one, because doing that too quickly doesn't leave time for the assist to clear out mAAp related files, and Punkbuster probably finds them.

You shouldn't keep mAAp files in AA2 normal install because Punkbuster will find them and kick you for that. Assist install folder instead is a whole different matter, Punkbuster doesn't even know it exists  :) (the folder)

Honor Claims / Re: [RG]-CoCa!ne+
« on: Friday, January 13, 2012, 03:50:27 AM »
well the reason i posted as i assumed that now auth(pragmatic) and bt account are pretty much one, changing your username in bt would effectively just be changing your in game name. as his main bt account that he has accomplished top level in is the one he would like to be using, he want to change the association it has with his 96 honor auth account to now be associated with his 100 honor auth account so he can aim for 110.

the other bt account( the one with a few kills), is not required and he made that just to keep track of his other auth accounts username.

i wish he just stuck with his 100 in the first place lol...

I don't care how he will do that, if he will do it by changing names (pic below) but he can already do what he want! There is no more association or so-called linking because there's no more accounts to link, only a battletracker account that theorically tracked his stats in the best way possible.

And again, pragmatic and Battletracker account were a different thing once, and they are a different thing even now. If you had a Battletracker account from the very first day you started playing with that account then it's fine, otherwise your honor might be the right one but your stats will be starting from the day you registered on BT and started playing with that account.

yes, but he previously had 2 AA(pragmatic) accounts linked to the one bt account, he doesnt want to change his current username of his bt account that is at general level, he just wants to link it with his other AA account which is at 100 honor instead of the listed 96

its kinda confusing to write it out lol, but do you follow now?

If he has a battletracker account for both, and i see this is the case -> http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/716080/?s=4e33544ac41978d0ffc5383dd95fe8c178069599

Then he can just login with the name he prefers on the 100 honour points account (he only need to change that on his Battletracker profile).

Your opening post seemed to say that this player only has 1 BT account but it rather seems he has 2 of em.

http://battletracker.com/playerstats/aao/544135/%5BRG%5D-CoCa%21ne%252B/

Anyway for the record you can't have more than 1 player tracked on each Battletracker account at a given time. You can eventually change the tracked player, but not add more than 1.

P.s.

he doesnt want to change his current username of his bt account

??? So he would like Jonny to do the work he could do in 2 seconds? Note that if we were theorically to go back in time up to a month ago, he couldn't even have thought of this...

For AA2-like purposes, the faster is the clock the better it runs. But anyway over 60/70 frames per second any improvement would be hardly noticed anyway.
