probably won't get down, at least not 4 ever. Jonny could not delete, otherwise he would have did >)

Was this an admin collective thing?

Or was it a single person that somehow slipped it past everyone else?

I mean, was there a large development team behind assist and everyone knew about this, or only 1, or a few?

To what extent did it reach? Did it allow access on demand, or scan and list our whole computer? Could any other info be compromised ie banking, and so on?

If there is ANY hope in resurrecting this, these issues need to be cleared and addressed. NOT being smug, answers need to be given.

How the admins are behaving and handling this outrageous situation clearly points out how immature and childish they are.

This should have been apparent LONG ago. When I 1st found assist, I loved it.

Then I joined the forums and all these fkin updates came along. Its sad how everything has gone down and been handled.

Dark, you just Said that you're Stupid. not me.
cheat files were found, that was well said there.

If you even attempted to read anything about my ban you would know i wasnt hacking. Which was even stated in the forum by the admins.

Completely diff topic. Cheat files found. Like being found with an illegal stolen hand gun "that you didnt know about nor use, nor intend to use". You likely used it, at least for a while. esp with it being a pay for hack.

BACK ON TOPIC someone should make another thread and keep it clean. These past 11 pages are nothing but a distraction for people trying to find out what is really going on.

Possessed is acting like a fool and making things worse. Are all admins trolls or what? Seriously.

I have analyzed the one of the latest builds of 25Assist and it indeed contains backdoor code/functionality. Whatever JonnyM's reasons are, this is not tolerable in the slightest as it represents an abuse of trust towards the users. Installing malware on the machines of users is by no means a solution and is punishable by international cyber-law.
Seeing as the admins have now also openly admitted to it on the forums, there is absolutely no doubt about what he has done, strengthened furthermore by the fact that he erased everything in an attempt to hide the evidence. Too bad that many of us still have 25Assist builds, and I personally have at least the latest 4-5.

If anyone wants to take action against him, you can file a complaint at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx and provide them with all the necessary proof (forums logs/screens, assist builds since they will be analyzing them themselves...)

If you want to know more about it:
http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/1030
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_Fraud_and_Abuse_Act
http://www.ncsl.org/issues-research/telecom/computer-hacking-and-unauthorized-access-laws.aspx

Trojan or not, it allowed him to gain unauthorized access to the PCs of users without their consent, and thus acted like a trojan. You might want to read more about the definition, both historical and legal. The ToS wont protect you, as it is not above the law, and what you did clearly breaks it.

So trojan like but not a trojan.

Well said, thanks for the info. This and other questions raised should all be addressed in the 1st post for everyone to see.

Yes... with the new assists anti cheat as i have stated twice now. They illegal got into your computer and was able to search through it looking for anything they wanted. Which is illegal obviously. This is why johnny deleted everything to get rid of the evidence and left. What im saying should have been the start of this whole topic. This is what should have been said so you could have saved 11+ pages of bullshit.

Exactly, dragging this on. Beating around the bush. Saying "no" to this n that. Truly frustrating

Asisst isn't a Trojan nor has a Trojan on it(even with past report, wich was a false positive and no AV would remove a real treat.)

So quit beating around the bush. Seriously.

Is trojan maybe too technical or not a 100% spot on definition? Maybe you "enabled the ability to view and access peoples computer similar but not the exact same as a trojan?"

a Trojan won't shut down :) trojan is something that fucks up ur PC and steal ur Bank info :D
I've messed with trojans when I was a kid lol and i've had some infecting my PC:(

what does that even mean, wont shut down?

So everyones comp is still infected? Is it some "custom trojan" Or a known one that most AV's should pick up?

All of these questions and more should be made known, and EASILY known to everyone.

so it was for illegally searching peoples pc's for hacks?

Read back a few pages.

From what I gather is a trojan was in one of the last few updates. So they essentially had access to your entire computer, everyone who had that update / version. It appears they claim the intention to find hack files on peoples comp.

it was already been said here lol....

Only because others have stated it. It should all be easily visible in the 1st post, not making people troll through 10 + pages to put things together

Sadly this is FAR from the 1st time a situation hasn't been handled properly with assist.

No they didn't go into anything. You obviously know nothing about how detection works. If you think that then you need to sue PB. They do the same thing. You even agreed to it when you installed the game to allow them or you don't play the game.

So if they did nothing wrong, why shut it down? slightly contradictory
