A long time ago I believe I made the strongest religious argument and someone put it on postquote.I remember that.
Tell him reading sucks.lol
Correct, but as soon as you employ fallacies yourself, you lose the high ground.Care to point out where I did that? I'm seriously curious, not trying to act like a douche or anything.
Well, yes, the default position in any argument in which a claim is made is not to believe it until it is proven. Just try and argue that with any Christian and out comes special pleading, strawmanning, and pretty much every fallacy they can get their hands on.I know, and the same thing applies for these conspiracy theories. Nobody can show me any proof they are real, yet they act as if they are. Same situation, different subject.
And if simply pointing out someone was wrong made you right, we'd have politicians that prepare for their careers by studying law--wait a minute...People who practice how to bullshit other people in matters over their heads are in. It's not what you see, it's what you don't.I choose to believe in thing that are backed by facts, things that have been proven right. If you want to believe in made up things that may or may not be true then go ahead, but that's not a healthy way to live. I can't prove that there isn't an invisible pink pony following me around everywhere, so should I start telling everyone that it's real? No, because it defies common sense, and so does a lot of the crazy theories in this thread. If there isn't any facts to back it up, it's a waste of time and not worth believing in.
it's not based on fact and therefore wrong.Correct. At least for the time being. If there were ever facts found to back it up, then it could become true, but until then, it's wrong.
And therefore religion is useless, everyone who believes in anything religious or spiritual is dumb and deserves to be told off by killamanReligion isn't useless. It gives people hope, something to believe in, to keep them motivated and happy looking forward to going to a better place when they die. I personally don't believe in religion, but it has benefits for others. Believing in the Illuminati has no benefits, unless you find tinfoil hats stylish.
Why do you always have to refer to putting someone down or making fun of what they do? Just because it's different than what you think it's wrong? No, it's wrong because it isn't based on facts. Any assumption not based on facts is useless. Nothing Grapes and Archi have been saying has any hint of truth to it or facts to back it up, yet they act as though it does.
actually one group controls everything, there's just a select few corporations that are truly backed by them completely. usually companies affiliated with the wealthiest people in the country a hell of a long time agoYeah. They're probably aliens from outer space too. They use their superior mid controlling technology to control the masses and the only way to see through it is to do drugs.
I never claimed that the phone industry was owned by 1 company. Now youre putting words in my mouthI wasn't referring to you.
So does anyone have any solutions, or are we all here to bitch about stupid bullshit? No one here is going to change anything. Opinions based on nothing are irrelevant. I recommend some of you do some research on what logical fallacies are, because this thread is full of them. There's some fucked up shit here, yes, but there is everywhere else too. A lot of it is worse. This is extremely true. I'm not going to pretend like I'm trying to make the world a better place, and neither should most people. But there is discussion to be had here, and it's simply entertainment.
BTW: Happy not-living-in-Afghanistan.
The proof is the fact that this country is in trillions of dollars of debt. The proof is the way the government works is whoever kisses enough corporate ass to make their lips brown gets to be in charge whether they know what they are doing or not and the way we like to temporarily "fix" our problems is spend more money that we dont have to bail out those shit corporations when they run out. I.E. AIG, General Motors etc...That's not proof to what was being discussed. That's just giving out examples of corruption.
Well there was a phone company breakup in the 80s because at&t owned basically every phone company in the US. The government forced them to split so each company became independent (no more phone company monopoly). This formed Qwest, Bell, att, and all the other old 90s phone companies that don't really exist anymore. They don't exist anymore because att bought most of them back up again. It's kind of funny.Yeah but AT&T doesn't even control the whole phone industry, much less most of the companies in the world like he is claiming. Last time I checked Verizon was bigger than AT&T. He said 10 companies control everything with 0 evidence to support it.
anyone want proof?Yes, people are corrupt, yes people do corrupt things for money. What does that have to do with a shadow government and Illuminati?
the best proof I can give is just starting you on the path to enlightenment. learn to accept that the government doesn't give a fuck about you, that money is all that matters in the world, and that the government would kill you for money and power.

i fixed itStill don't understand the point you're trying to make. Also, you're still dodging my post asking for proof to your "10 companies control everything" theory.
