to get home servers running, download the ServerManager. then do this:
1. create a new folder called aa25server (I did this like c:\aa25server)
2. expand the downloaded ServerManager to this location/folder
3. be sure there are now at least this folder
- AssistServerManager Libs
and this file
- AssistServerManager.exe
4. start now the AssistServerManager.exe
5. do not touch anything, just start with "create a new server". this takes about 10 minutes (depends on your internet)
6. after download is finished, there should be a new folder called server0. select that folder and be sure that 11 other
folders like "animations, briefings.." are made there (just control it)
7. go to the Server Manager (SM) and start filling in the values you like to have:
- Server Name: what ever you like
- Colors for server: 100,100,100 (download UT2k4MessageColourizer.exe and you can see the numbers for the color
you like to have)
- What map to run: choose one you like
- adminemail: your email address (if you like to have it visible for all out there). otherwise leave it like it is
- adminname: the login name for admin access (so maybe your bt account name)
- port: this port must be unique for every server you are running. also be sure it is open for router/firewall
- processed: this must be unique too. every server has to run with another process-id (like 001, 002, 003)
- multihome: leave it like it is. change this only if you have multiple ip-addresses from your provide
- adminpassword: set your password to have access to your server (together with adminname)
- gamepassword: leave it blank. has to be set only if you would like to run a server with a password to join
- playerslots: choose how many players you will let play on this server (max. is 32)
- roundsmatch: how many rounds a match should go
- roundlenght: the time in minutes you want to play a round
- playeradmins: set the names you like to grant access as admins (like [SWISS]Merlin), then add
these are the most important settings you have to do. now close the SM and start it again. all the values you did put in should be still there. if so, try to start the server by pressing the button "Start Server". it should run now!
to make another server, just select the one you just made by clicking once, then select "Copy Selected Server". this takes about 1 minute, then you will see the same server again.
IMPORTANT: you have to change at least the "port" and the "processid" to another value (be sure port is open)
enjoy!
