General Chat / Re: 2.5 graphics

ps: AA3 didn't runned any good even on my GT7600 or on the X1800GTO. Only now on my new pc I can run it, but don't want to. I better go play combat arms than that crap. Though ppl killed CA which has cheaters on every god damn server... >:(
Keep Cool

I don't think AA3 was even meant to run good on those cards, or to make good use of any graphic card at all, mainly because it uses quite a lot more the cpu rather the video card.
Nowadays free-to-play gaming scene is full of titles, Combat Arms is just a name among the old ones.

Cheats and cheaters sucks :)

lol, I have a bias towards Nvidia. I like them more for the dumbest reason: I understand the way they name their graphics cards much more than ATI. I always have to google when people talk about ATI cards.

Huge space for debate opening here...but i'd rather end here this (although interesting) offtopic.

However for the record and Spanky's disapproval i never use V-sync. Screen tearing isn't an issue for me, i get much more annoyed by lines aliasing.

If you shoot a door and it becomes all black, it means the game engine renders decals (aka projectors) in a way that the graphics card doesn't like. A lot of times, the way a game engine does stuff, graphics cards don't all interpret it the same way. Unreal Engine usually works very well on Nvidia cards. Thats just the way it is.

Sorry couldn't resist :)

Yeah but cores means nothing to this game, since a single core of a nowadays cpu will smoke AA...

Keep Cool

Start America's Army 2.8.5, load Snakeplain, or even better, ES2 Border (which is the coop version) and look at your framerate crushing down happily :) .

Bug Reports / Re: PB Logs ignoreing MD5
« on: Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 14:48:19 PM »
Well When PB first started this check, lot of hacks got crazy with it.

It used to mean specially that the MD5 hash on some file doesn't correspond to the MD5 PB has saved if I remember well...

It happend for example when people used to hack the game for example using map loading technique, but then they erased the map.... However after this check PB verified that it had something loaded with different md5 hash...

It's happening a lot, it happend to me and my friend, and I have seen ppl kicked by it. Can it be because of the files you modified because of the new 25assist tracking system?

Ps: I don't know anything about this either, but couldn't you try to contact PB to see how you can bypass the md5 crapt checks (If we had the good old hackers on our side... They used to bypass it pretty well after some time).
Keep Cool

Couldn't you for once offer a point of view that isn't related to hacks, glitches and whatnot? Anyway i don't think Jonny is willing to leave MD5 checks. Oh, and btw that map loading tecnique is the one used by ShadowBot.

Not that I bitched but it would be good.

I don't care about load times ect I load in <3seconds.  Game is designed on 2004 architecture.  Most have computers build after 2010.

Deeper meaning in that sentence. You said a right thing but you just need to say also that the game won't make much use of a 2010 architecture. It wouldn't make 100% use even of a 2008 one *hint*cores*hint*

I guess the low amount of servers placed at a closed enough distance is one more reason to behave agreeing to the server rules...but i see this is being overtalked, is there really anything else you would say about the argument, i find the point to be really clear (and from my humble point of view i don't see how swearing is going to be needed when playing...it's not really going to be a huge cut at everyone's freedom of speech but just a common practice that makes sense).

Can you change your IP by reseting your modem?

not sure if you can get an admin to restart pb if that fixes it. console command "admin pb_sv_restart"

Im not sure if the bans only ban by IP, I would have to look.. Johnny would know..

Do it the old style:

- open a prompt window;
- type "ipconfig /release" and press enter;
- switch off the modem, wait some time, then switch it back on;
- type "ipconfig /renew and press enter.

Please read the pinned topic -> http://aao25.com/honor-claims/honor-claims-read-before-posting/

You need to post more info, especially some proof of you having that honor level at some point in time.

This was beautiful  :D.

Screw Imageshack, use Imgur. Much faster, provides a better service (with no ads).

Very nice :D i appreciate your interest, now you can start with the first step which is the most tedious part: converting the namespaces for sounds, textures and meshes from 2.8.5 model to 2.5 one. It will be tedious but i can assure you it's the fastest way to make game assets linking in order to work.

Once done, you can upload a the .txt file and either me or Spanky or BlueBlaster will use it to build the map.

Actually, according to the ESRB, once a game has online content where players interact it becomes rated M.

Seriously? That's funny. What they expect interaction to be?

Joining a server from the ingame browser or from the assist is really the same. Actually Assist layout is cleaner.
I don't see that much need to adjust settings on the fly (playing windowed, you can even reshape the window if you need a different resolution), except for those who change their gamma/brightness settings every 2 minutes and such.

I understand your point and it's sad to have so-called bitches whining. Especially for something not worthy to gameplay as much as any other sensible side of the game.
