A killcam would be terrible for recognizing cheaters. Have you ever actually used the Call of Duty one? It's terrible and half the time it looks fishy. Not only do you have to account for both players' ping which could make the kill look off, but no game is perfect in its mechanics either. Weird shit happens in some games, especially in AA. I've had nades that landed 2 feet from me and I didn't get hit because of some random tiny object blocking it that might not be shown on a killcam. I've had a 203 blow up on a wall next to me and not kill me, while I've also had a 203 blow up in another room and kill me. In AA you shoot from the top of your head so people will see the other player crouched almost entirely behind a wall and still kill them and think he's hacking.
That's just AA though and all that a killcam would do is give us a bunch of people who aren't familiar with how the game works coming here complaining about "cheaters" that aren't even cheating.
That's why I had it in quotes.

It is nearly impossible to positively detect a cheater just from game footage. That's why the official leagues never banned only on demorecs either.

Honor Claims / Re: Honor Claim
« on: Thursday, June 04, 2015, 17:16:25 PM »
You will have it the next time you log on to a server.

However, I do believe the lower honor levels go up so fast you wouldn't even notice before you got the same honorlevel just by playing :)

Furthermore, bear in mind that we don't merge accounts or their honors. So if you do find an account with higher honor, the points of this account will not be added to it.

In order for us to give you this honor, we will need actual proof.

You don't have 10 000 kills on your account, so we couldn't go by that. And even if we did, kills and honor don't correlate quite as clearly as  you described.

You have 47 000 points (having deducted the ROE) at the moment. That's 31 honor. That's the best I can do without any other kind of proof.

You might have had more than one battletracker account, because there is no way that kills (let alone hours played) can go down on that site and since I'm pretty sure AA didn't officially even count kills that far back, the people must have been referencing some other account.
You can use http://history.anticheatinc.com/aa2/index.php to find connected accounts and stuff.

Not necessarily. Battlefield's killcam shows the player after they killed you. Basically so you know where you got shot from.
Regardless, I'm completely against the idea of killcams. I hated it when BF started using them and I don't want it to be a part of AA.
I've not played many other FPS's (if any at all), so I suppose you might be right.

But in order to "recognize a cheater" it would definitely need to be playback.

Is there a state of pawn dying? Or something that could be triggered at death. I would think it would be straightforward to force spectate the player that killed you for 5 seconds or so.
I would imagine it might not be too difficult to see what's happening after they killed you, but the point of a killcam is to see what happened when they killed you. That would mean that the game would have to be constantly recording (demorec or something?) and unless it's doing this right now, I don't think it would be easy to implement.
Demorec itself is quite buggy as it is, let alone looking at the last few seconds of it in a quick manner...

I also think the idea itself could be interesting, however I seriously doubt it would be easy to implement around what's there even if we had access to the original code.

Exactly,

Many of those were good players who liked their fragrate as well, especially in those times it was easy to get a high fragrate if you had the patience as well to play that serious in a pub.
Plus, when there was so many players, you could look for a server with less experienced ones and then look for a new one when everyone left because you killed them.... oh those were the times :D

I suppose it might take a few hours for it to show up (I don't know to be honest).

And like Wickid said, the donor icon is reserved for those who donate $20+ (don't know how much you donated).

But in any case, we're extremely glad for all the contributions! :)

I still can't see it yet.

Although, this might be worth a look:

Session over 3 fr!
Assuming that you're serious, I see I already commented on this thread and on that exact same issue. What I said is still valid today.

Yeah, a translation would be great! :)

Looks very interesting indeed. 80 000 views is hardly something we get any day (and this thing is only 2 days old!! ).

Bug Reports / Re: Bug places in several maps
« on: Sunday, May 31, 2015, 02:40:13 AM »
I mentioned this before. You guys should really think about creating topics and news items when you fix things. It can't be hard to create a topic in the private forums and add fixes to a list. And when you update assist, just copy/paste that list as a release-log. I'm sure you guys would get a lot of apprication for all the hard work you put in to this game. Now, most players don't know what get fixed unless they browse all topics every week.
There's a difference between an Assist update and a file update such as the maps.
A file update can be done without updating Assist itself.

Plus, there's hardly any weekly changes.

Major changes and (to my knowledge) all Assist updates have had a news thread with them for a few years now.
