General Chat / Re: aa2 login in error
« on: Thursday, March 29, 2012, 19:09:12 PM »
lol if i didn't have a connection i wouldn' be able to be posting this,

now i deleted the game, tryn to do a fresh install getting this stupid error now

By checking your connection i simply meant that you should verify your connection timing response. You can do that by going through this online speed test. If you're using a wifi connection, try to get closer to the modem/router and check back if anything changes for the better.

http://www.speedtest.net/

Your AA install has hardly something to do with a Timeout error response message. Actually, it shouldn't have nothing at all to do with it :)

P.s. that error is not that stupid and it's actually suggesting you something i told you already.

The authentication server is online, check your connection. If you have any, switch off any tools or software that will ask for a good amount of bandwidth while running.

Neat, it shows an 83 honor level.

You can theorically use any name on Battletracker for your AA 2.5 related Assist authorized account, avoiding special chars - please.

General Chat / Re: AUTHORIZATION SLOT CLOSED kick?
« on: Wednesday, March 28, 2012, 14:33:47 PM »
If you playing and the games crashes you are kicked right?
But your character still in the game and hasn't logged out, so that means when you try to join the server you get kick for that because....you all ready in the server and you haven't logg out after your crash. Wait till it get's kick from the server:)

P.S Get a better pc's and the game won't crash:PPP

It's simply that you can't get in when there's a slot open while you appear to be in that specific server already. Indeed, if i recall correctly you should be able to join any other server.

No rig will save you from a critical error that was held by issues not hardware related, like memory leaks, wierd conditions that lead to unexpected exceptions, or even a few drivers conflicting the each other.

P.s. quite a long ago i tried to run AA 2.8.5 on a Atom netbook (an asus featuring the old n270 atom processor), it actually was able to render Bridge @ 30 frames per second...in single player mode (entering multi was just worthless, like having 8 fps on a slightly crowded Bridge map). Assuming you want to try to get a low powered pc rendering an AA map, you'll have to switch part of the lighting off, and maybe you would get a barely not so decent framerate.

I had it happen a couple days ago without me actually clicking to close the slot.  I went and changed my PW in case it was someone fucking around with my account on assist, but I think half the server got kicked at the same time.

When communication between the game client and the server starts failing, PB communications start failing too. Therefore Punkbuster recognize no communication going on, you get kicked and the slot gets closed. Or either, you don't notice the kick because your connection went totally down, you just close the game client while the server closes the slot and claims to be kicking a player that actually it's not even connected anymore.

The same applies for a critical error crashing a game client (and likely, for server side issues aswell - wierd things start to happen, and all of the players get kicked soon).

I get much more annoyed by the poor attitude-like, cursing kind of people, i don't care about someone else's ping. I know it affects hit detection because of the way the detection is made, but they will get horrible bullet hit detection aswell, and hey honestly, it's a game, just letting you know.

Just stop bitching the each other and play the game, you can prolly still enjoy it without the bitching.

The only thing cool about Urban Night was riding on the truck. It wasn't really a "fun map," it just had a moving truck. Nobody every played on it, they just screwed around on the truck.

As much as they used to do on Snakeplain, a great map often ruined by the average n00b cursing and running all over the place (over teammates) screaming LOLWUT? every time he ran over someone.

It's sad that Spanky loves to create AA maps yet he doesn't fully enjoy playing them.

There are 3 objectives. There is one in the park and one in the cafe. You need both to win (take turns). Then there is one on the second floor of the building that is an instant win if taken.

Ah yap, now i get it.

Tried the map today and noticed there are 2 objectives, one takes turns (needed to win), placed outside in the park, and the other one (doesn't take turns, not needed to win) placed at the 1st floor. I noticed you can actually get the 2nd objective in a pretty safe way, as there no sniping point that covers that part of the building. I was wondering if that's a choice by design cause while it's gonna be a pain in the ass to defend the park objective (well, you can still do it by laying in the fountain, lol) it will be pretty easy to complete the 1st floor one.

« on: Saturday, March 24, 2012, 09:19:57 AM »
...you can switch it on but your server will become non-authorized (for anti-cheating purposes). It has been talked over quite a lot anyway, haven't you noticed a similarly named thread in the forums about ingame radars and such?

Anyway the name says it all, displays your teammates position.

I heard forum search functions work well for finding out if theres already 3 threads on a topic

Square is like dockside to me. Square does require some work IMO and I have been letting them know(at least try to ). Urban se would be better if we had burst weapons not that m4.

I feel that a few maap pack maps open too much area up to play, I would rather see better use of the area in the map

It could be a chance to take off the gameplay from the buildings and bringing it to the open area (which might likely became lesser open). I don't like camping so i'm actually for trying to move people out of tight closed spaces a bit.

Yes. The authentication server seems to be temporarily offline.
