Never go on marketing hype. Real benchmarks can show performance differences between cards. I also like these two sites:That list on Tom's Hardware is pretty good. Also, is there even marketing hype for GPUs?

I prefer to use these charts when buying some equipment, i don't go on marketing hype.Then you know nothing. The GTX 295 is a dual GPU that beats the GTX 285 in every single benchmark by a sizable margin.

I remember back when i got my GTX285 they hyped about the GTX295 and it cost 50% more yet it was not as fast, i know have the GTX460 down a bit on the rankings but is almost 3 years old now.
Did they shut down the servers on 2.8.5? I looked on google and couldn't find anything.They shut down the authorization servers for all of AA 2. Why do you think everyone is here playing 2.5?

o.O you still have 0 posts...It's not overkill at all in more demanding games. The only game I know of that takes advantage of over 4 cores is Battlefield 3 and it will likely be that way for quite a long time. By then, it will be like the Core 2 Quads when they first came out, stuff will finally use the cores, but the CPU isn't going to be fast enough for the extra cores to do any good. It is true that currently you can max anything out with an AMD CPU (depending on which model) Intel CPUs just get noticeably better performance in most games and AMD has really been slacking when it comes to CPU power. The i5 2500k still beats AMDs best CPUs when it comes to gaming. Bulldozer was a big failure gaming wise and AMD seems to be struggling to come up with something to combat Intel. I'm really hoping AMD puts out something amazing on AM3+ because not only is competition good, I would love to upgrade my CPU without buying a new motherboard. I'm a huge fan of AMD and I really hope they pull through.
I totally agree with you on Intel vs AMD. AMD is no slouch and these days, games are more demanding on graphics cards than CPU's. If AMD didn't make competing chips, they wouldn't be in the market anymore. I bet that FX 8-core of yours is overkill for the games you play right? AMD quads are still pretty good for gaming these days, let alone 2 generations newer 8-core chips.
beats the gtx 690 o.o?The GTX 690 isn't a single GPU, it's a dual GPU. IF anything, compare the GTX 690 vs the Radeon 7990, which is also a dual GPU. Dual GPUs tend to have a lot of problems though and aren't really needed or practical. The 7970 is the fastest single GPU on the market.

Processor: AMD FX-8150If you had enough money for a 7970 and enough money to waste on 16gb of ram, why did you get an AMD CPU? That doesn't really make sense to me... Everyone knows Intel blows AMD out of the water when it comes to games (which I'm assuming you use your computer for because of the 7970) Should have gotten an Ivy Bridge i5 or i7, both of which would beat any CPU AMD has on the market for gaming.

Yes ,the fix is simple...Get rid of this useless cvar.I've been using the mousewheel since 2003...This is an old ACI cvar that serves no purpose.ThanksWell you can't use it anymore. Get used to it, it's not going to change.
