I've always loved this map! It's well designed and beautiful. The only issue I've ever had with it is that Defense can shoot through the windows at assault spawn. I've always felt that that through off the balance in Defense's favor, as it puts pressure on Assault as soon as they spawn. I think a good compromise would be the ability to see through the windows, but not shoot through certain ones. I know you're going for realism though, so just a suggestion. Good stuff, Spanky.

There's not so many players on AA... it's saturday afternoon and right now there are 110 servers for 91 players...
When AA was still supported by the US Army, they were making new maps for each version, until we reached a peak with the pack that had Floodgate - which was not really needed since we already had so many maps... That led to having maps that were not played at all ; and maps getting harder to play on. Sometimes there were no HQ Raid, no Mountain Ambush, even new maps (back then) were abandonned like Taiga, Arctic (which I can understand ^^).

My point is : if you make new maps right now, it will reduce the amount of players we have on other maps. Right, it wouldn't kill the game, but it wouldn't do much good to it either ^^ It would be fun for like 10 players (maximum) within these 90 players...

As for competition, we don't need new maps. There are so many competitive maps right now, just stick to what we used to play in CAL, ESL, TWL. Those maps are great, I don't see why we should change them ; AA got great maps for matches !

I understand the bit about maps being abandoned, as far as losing players: correlation does not necessarily mean causation. New maps will not hurt the game because at the very worst, they will simply be ignored, which changes nothing.

Woah, chill. The reason is because there are already new maps that have been made that people put a LOT of work into. Also, some people like to try out new maps. Not all maps were created equal, so maybe some of the new ones will get played. It doesn't really have any negative impact on you.

Like I've said, I'll do whatever I can to ensure the mAAps get updated. Beyond that, if people want to see more map work done, I will continue.

I'll continue to work on maps as well. I'll learn as much as I can.

Realistically, how much time before you start this? Because Contingency isn't quite finished, but it's almost there. Also, I don't have access to the dropbox anymore, since I thought this was never going to happen, so I'll just leave a link to my map when it's ready for you guys. Spanky, are you or Killa going to stick around on the forums for a while? I may have a couple of questions about the last couple of things I've gotta do.

I'm almost done with SF Contingency. Just need to add briefings, descriptions and more clutter. When it's complete, someone should review my point values and determine whether they are acceptable (rounds, objectives, ect.). Thanks, I appreciate this.

None of such work will be wasted. I will gather all pending stuff that can be included without major changes (maps, cvars, etc.) and make an update as soon as I can. I will ask for it in a separate thread.

This reminds me: You are a complete fucking idiot. The reason I'm annoyed is mostly because I put a lot of work into a map that will never be released. The only reason I put so much time into it is because I was told, on numerous occasions, that it would be released. Last time I checked, creating new content to the game was a form of help. It sure was a lot of work. But seriously. Your response to my post was that you don't think raping me would be worth it, even if you could, because I had a complaint about Assist's current super-admin. Just because I have an opposing view doesn't validate your post. Post something relevant instead of random half-baked insults or just shut the fuck up.

Pit, if you ever had a position of power in reality, the people would be morally obliged to assassinate you.

As far as Assist goes, you aren't doing anything but abusing your privileges. The only reason people still play is because they want to play AA, not because of you. Because of you, none of the people I used to play Assist with still play. Because of you, people get banned without proof, whether they are guilty or not because you think you're an anti-cheat expert. Because of you, no respect to the former members of this project is shown and their advice is, not only disregarded, but met with hostility. You were a horrible candidate for the position you're in and I knew it from the beginning. You know why you're having so much trouble? Because you pissed off every last person willing and able to help. You are a disgrace to what was formerly the Assist team and it doesn't take an engineer to see it. I want Spanky, Blue, and Killa back.
