-Added chat logger to assist server manager.

How is this implemented?  Not seeing anything for dedicated servers...

I've heard very little positive things about AA4. I guess we'll see. Also, your post about Pipeline being a balanced map for mods  is pretty untrue. It's a defense oriented map already, and mods just perpetuate that. Getting 203/RPG'd/SF scoped/incendiary'd from 3 different entrances and every other noob sitting in main pump isn't fun.

The skill came in overcoming those obstacles with a good assault team with experienced players.  It was more about team planning than individual equality.  I'll admit though, having noobs camping on assault has been a tough challenge to deal with.  I'm not hating the change, just voicing my opinions and observations.  I can't speak for everybody who has tested AA4, but I can say it is a definite improvement over AA3.  Those that play Rambo will probably not like it, as it requires team cooperation.

I'd like to request an exception for mapvote.u
It's majority player voting for servermaps when admin isn't on

Also, if new players are being attracted by mods, they're playing the game for the wrong reasons. This isn't CounterStrike.

The players that will play AA for the 'right' reasons will probably move to AA4.  I can say they did a way better job on computer resources and smoothness of game play than with AA3.

The reason we ran a mod on 82nd Pipeline, is because the pipeline map allows for being skilled with whatever weapon you chose.  The map is balanced enough that if you wanted to clean up newbs, you could.  If you had experienced players, they can team  play and formulate against any weapon brought out.  I'm not sure that weaponpicker would have been so successful on any other map.  But choosing your own weapon brought you an alternative, something else to do with the game, or a way to increase your skill with a certain weapon.  A way to keep interest in the game.  So the weaponpicker+pipeline combination brought newly interested players, as well as skilled players.  But of course, everyone wants to skill up using the 'honor' system.  As an alternative, we provided standard servers for the purists, and nobody came.  So that tells me exactly where interest lies in AA2.   I'm not sure why the purist think that the game would be any more popular without mods, they only needed to go to the unmodified servers if purism  was the goal. I'm disappointed this wasn't put to a visable vote anywhere by the player community.  AA4 is pretty good, resource friendly.  When it comes out, and this event, will probably put an end to AA2.5.

This was already explained on the 82nd forums.  EvenBalance had a bug in July 2007 that caused this error, so don't worry about it.

I don't know who bitched at you on 82nd pipeline for calling out campers, we generally don't like assault campers.  We've limited the time limit to 4 mins (enough time for well organized assault to take objectives), and if the rest of assault wants to camp outside, they are easily killed.  Usually if there are admins on we kick idlers.  You are welcome to votekick idlers when admins are not on.  Might have been somebody who thought you were ghosting on comms.  Defense campers, well, that's a matter of opinion I guess.

Your event was dns (port 53).  If YOUR server is not running a name server, you need to contact your provider to harden their dns server against attacks.  If you are running Linux, and run Bind, turn off recursion.

Don't have a use for it yet, but appreciated just the same.

Mods make the game on certain maps interesting where players were bored before.  I can see why some are die hard game purists but there are plenty of servers running no mods.  We run a mod server, and a non-mod server, and are usually pretty successful in getting people into the non-mod server, but only if we go there.  Takes about 2-3 players before the other players (non mod whores) become interested.

The incoming ip's won't matter, as they are zombie infected pc's being commanded to bombard your AA.  The person doing it won't be connected to your PC unless they're stupid.  Usually they have a dos program that commands a ddos army, like loic or some such.

There's alot of speculation but no hard proof yet.  Ports seem to be common, 2010 outgoing and  34261 incoming when the crashes occur.
I've been told that !i!i!insi and !i!i!fNgsy seem to be on all the servers that crash, and when they were on ours, they had the same ip and PORT, which seems weird.  This after looking at netstat and figuring who was who.

Server Support / Re: All USA servers are on pipeline

I suppose people like it, or think it's the only server.  The way assist is made, it defaults to listing the populated servers 1st, which happen to be pipeline.  People can easily start thier own map servers if they weren't too lazy to stay in it a few mins by themselvses.

Thanks for the fix as well!
Why did it only affect a few of us?

Found same thing as [2oo3].Toolito.!.Fr - end of aa-pbsv.cfg is truncated.  Not downloading entire file.  This is after deleting the entire file, restarting the server, ect.  and of course the pb/pbsv.cfg as well.  This is not solved through a re-install
