Wait Koden, I changed the description the other day. It shouldn't say anything about the auth server being shut down. Unless the changes didn't save.

The description from the Assist page has been changed but most likely they've copypasted the old one so that's the one displayed on that weekly featured page. Well, doesn't matter really anyway (nothing we change).

Trigger Events?

I have been working alot with movers and i have experimented with the multiple ways of controlling them. However i am having trouble finding a way to make it so that an useControl keypad in separate room opens a door.

In my map i want to have it so when you capture 1 of the objectives this door opens permanently for the remainder of the mission.

I happened to set up a few doors in Interdiction in the same exact way. Basically it is an objective that once completed triggers a door open. You can choose the amount of time needed to complete the triggering, the sound being executed on and right after the triggering. There are 2 types of it in Interdiction, look at the 2nd floor doors, where there's the objective icon (i don't remember if you have the 2.5 editor or not, but you can still look at playing the mission).

That's a great thing and will help advertising the game. Don't want to be picky but If anything the description would benefit of a little punctuation and correction here and there.

I know that this a converted & unfinished map, but I will show what I've found:
-
1°- All walls with Red, Blue & Green strips do not show any bullets decals, bathrooms are ok
2°- Bathrooms walls: bullets decals are too big, its like I'm shooted with a 20mm gun :D. //i think they were default, gonna check
3°- Missing Lamps(?) in some rooms @ Office. //most likely fixed
4°- Ceiling and Floor doesn't show bullets decals. @ the Truck room.
5°- Elevator doors doesn't show bullets decals. @             /\.
6°- Missing vent doors @ "Data Center", Bathroom + in other locations.
7°- You can see a Light(or Corona) through the door/wall @ 1st door at the left of the Main Gateway.
8°- Vent door goes inside the Generator when opened @ IDK. I will post a Screenshot.

Those green ones were fixed in the version already available on Dropbox. All of the surfaces not showing bullets decals are pretty much bare surfaces fitted with the right texture imported from 2.8.5 (that's why they haven't proper settings in that regard). I don't remember about that light (i might have left one) in that zone.

I think i've also fixed pretty much all of the missing lamp meshes in the office. I was rather wondering if i've missed a couple in the lower floors.
Btw there was a mesh stuck in the wall right on top of the elevator ladder (that was fixed aswell).

P.s. the newer version of this map also featured HUD text messages for the objectives and a few other things.

P.s.2 i've been crying for gameplay feeback about this map!! About players spawns, objectives, gameplay as a whole...i still don't know if this map makes sense for players out there (it's being played really rarely). I would love to know if there's something that can be done since this map was born as a Cooperative one, and that's a quite different approach.

I don't understand any of this but what's so bad about using the shoutbox or creating a forum thread or using MSN, X-Fire, Steam, AIM, YIM, GTalk, etc?

Any IM tool is a 1to1 or a 1 to few friends channel, theorically having a public channel would let more people talk to each other and maybe would make for keep people in touch while using the Assist. Yet the amount of people is not high enough to expect a lot of players coming in for chatting, maybe a few more than the ones that visit these forums.

This is exactly what im talking about but instead of using IRC you could use a web based coded program on the AAO25 site or actually implementing it in Assist it self. I know that would be a lot of work for someone to code or make or whatever youre gunna have to do to make something like that. If something like this could be made or produce it would attract a lot of old players and possibly new ones as well.

To be realistic, you will also need volunteers to moderate the irc chat. Seeing as people behave in game, you don't want a totally unmoderated free-to-speech dedicated channel for the average player.

Top speed doesn't tell a single word on your connection quality. It's likely to be a connection issue, if it's not your modem or router might be working so poorly it can't held under load (typical of budget ones). Oh, and of course you want to have your wifi access point as close as you can get. A couple walls and you already notice signal drop unless you have a decent modem/router (but sometimes it also depends on materials the signal has to travel through).

I think it would be cool to get working AI but at the same time i always thought the AI in AA was really weak. When they first came out with snakeplain and interdiction they were fun like the first time playing them and then it was just boring. They were really easy to kill and would always miss you and then every once in a while they would get a random headshot. Would it even be possible to make the AI smarter with UnrealEd? Is that something that would have to be coded? I'm not very familiar with it.

Just to let you imagine how messy the 2.5 AI is, back then i actually tried to use NPCs in the map, not an opfor but just "people" to give a more lively feeling to the map. Tried testing on Spanky's server and he immediatly noticed the server was being way too spammy, because of uncompleted AI stuff (basically the server log would fill with error logs for megabytes and slowing down or even crashing).

   Gentlemen/women,
I am writing this in hopes of restoring my honor in AA2. Before the switch I had completed all of my training except for the Escape & Evade mission. Now that we're using other server/databases, I find that I have to repeat...(?) all of my training. Why...? I really enjoy this game, but if I have to re-establish my character again, I won't enjoy it so much. Is there ANY way of re-instituting my honor without retraining my character?...Please?

I would surely appreciate any action towards getting my player, playing again.
