Media & Art / Re: Evel Knievel BBC's documentary - legend of a daredevil

There is a film about him with Jaime Pressly ;)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0403004/

Cool, i wasn't able to find even the movie trailer tho. There's a full movie biography from the 70's on the tube (doesn't make much sense to me cause they filmed it when his career was probably just hitting the top, way early).

I don't know whether or not you people ever heard of this guy (he was a famous stunter back in the 70's) but i've just found this BBC's documentary which pretty much depicts the character (a man who gave all to his passion, or rather to create a legend).

Back in 2007 when this filmed he was still holding memories, and faith to his own legend, lesser so to his physical state.

(The documentary is a complete version of the actual tv show that was aired in 2007).

sooooo yeah...... like i said... you clearly like AA2 better than AA3.

How can i like an incomplete game vs a complete, polished one?

You guys clearly like AA2 more than AA3 for your own reasons. Tell the devs and hope they make the right decision! and stop acting like you know everything.... cuz you dont. If they find people enjoyed older style gameplay they WILL revert to something more similar to AA2 that people will appreciate.

Do we? AA3 isn't offering a whole lot of features, and especially not doing most of em correctly, it falls short of variety (and quality), there's no editor yet, and the game itself is not showing a lot of activity (let's say up to par with comparable games). The latest patch also came up with the Airfield, mixing a very poor quality - even in comparison with other official maps - with a flat gameplay (how can you describe playing on a Airfield with very few major structures on it?). Just look at the server list, the last maps published are almost completely absent (except for the Airfield which is still rather new), you struggle to find a Stronghold or Shantytown server.

I re-installed AA3 almost every single time they came out with a patch, hoping for a change that hasn't ever come!

Less trainings? I think it's debatable, training a player up to a certain level was what made AA2 feel different. With AA2 you had to literally learn your way through (remember Escape and Evade?). I never had the same feeling with another first person shooter, that you had to plan your tactics and work for the team (in object featured missions).

Regarding AA4 however, i don't really wonder about the graphic side but about the gameplay, i fear it will share AA3 cons without much pro's. I wonder whether they'll use the UE3 or an "evolution", it's really versatile but it's quite old.

On the other hand i agree there should be no radar, less training and for christsake no respawns or re-generating health.

Yep, AA3 coop's Medevac...painful. Playing coop against respawning bots - gawd.

ahh thought aon was the only 1 banning for that in old days,

i know on some grafic cards causes this issue too

good catch

Nope, ACI used to ban for that aswell. And honestly, coupled with the poke notice makes it far more likely.

thanks for all the feedback guys

i have most other apps closed out but ill try to change the priority on the game within the task manager and see if that helps

but as far as a graphics card is concerned i dont think this machine even has 1

i have no fancy graphics turned on no shadows and i run the game at 800 x 600 i dont c why the pc dosent kick its ass

can i u guys also remind me of the command to check the fps

It's most likely fitted with an Intel 4500HD. Which basically means that it is an low powered integrated chip. Mind you, it's still somewhat better than older Intel video chips. I'm not sure it's completely supported anyway.

/cut/ taking care of your clan's players attitude and behavior is a part of what distinguish a clan from a random group of players (at least imho).

It's even more disappointing than Tymi...and i'm not sure whether you know about it or not, but yesterday Tymi (Hero Turtles) was caught and posted asking for the same thing basically. To be an exception.

But really it disappoints me cause you guys are among the few good behaving, friendly, honest and educated teams around.

Or maybe because it'a single threaded, like you said, and it can't use both cpus?

Precisely. About wifi, note that a good modem/router is a key point to be able to make use of a good connection. I happened to have a very low budget modem-router that offered a really poor stability and seemed underpowered aswell (barely working under load).

Have no idea. I have some old hardware back from 2006 when I bought it. My ram is still DDR1 and my vid card is geforce 6800.

Actually, I never understood why I can't run this game smoodly with hardware that was new in 2006. When was aa2.5 (I mean the game version, not the assist) released, not before 2006? I thought we already had aa2.6 back then.

2.5 came out on Octber 13th 2005, while 2.6 came a few months later (February 9th). The game runs on a older Unreal 2.5 engine and therefore has a lot in common with the Unreal series (e.g. Ut 2004). For its age, it still works wonders, main limits lies in ligthing and physics (and being single-threaded).

You call that shity? Lol, I have one core 3200 AMD with 1 giga ram and xp. And you don't see me complaining (most of the time)

Core clock (and cpu architecture design) makes the difference. Out of curiosity, which cpu are you running on? An overclocked Sempron?

You can try to shut down all of yours utilities and tools that run in background (i.e. xfire, skype, etc). You can also try to run the game process (armyops.exe) at the highest priority (right mouse click on the process -> set priority), but that would work if you had several others app stressing the cpu, cause otherwise there's not much to be prioritized.

America's Army benefits of faster and more modern processors (yet using only 1 core of any processor), so an higher clock means helps more than a faster videocard. Anyway you can't basically overclock a laptop cpu (in a safe way) cause you risk to damage your laptop due to cooling and power limits.

Lol I mean such servers need admins, but it had to be a noob admin too? Noob admin will kick everybody who kills him (just had it happening on HH server) so who's gonna administrate it

I've heard several awful things about HT players lately, but honestly, taking care of your clan's players attitude and behavior is a part of what distinguish a clan from a random group of players (at least imho). Anyway that is just a lack of experience in both administrating and playing, as you can't just kick a player because you can't accept he's better than you, i would accept a rebalancing if teams aren't well sorted.

I could be an admin on such server but what, I can't play on it? :D

The point is letting beginners to have a better chance to have fun. Sadly, you're no more a beginner since...ages i would bet :P :D
