Open the map Bridge offline, before connecting to the 82nd server.

82nd isn't running a bridge map...

Ah well Dead.and.Broken reported that issue as having a semi-colon instead of a colon in the icon target address.  I have no idea what T-Maps is.

I believe I have fixed the whitelist errors, and will test throughout the day.  Merlin, I installed AA2.5 linux server and then copied the assist modified maps, textures, sounds, ect.  PB errors seemed to be fixed using the pbcl.so (pbcl.dll in windowz). dll/ htm/ files that assist had, plus pb_sv_whitelist directives. AntiPoke not enabled.   Ini file modified for hackhunter, SOTchatlogger, ect. While testing this I found people joining with files that were part of assist, but more importantly, THAT WERE NOT PART of assist....so some players are trying funny stuff.  PB does need to be turned on.
Spanky, unauth servers won't query with the standard ports in LAN mode, you need to use UT ports starting with 7778.  So, it is possible to come up with a php script to have people register their servers, then list them here.  I have a query class in php for it if you need.  Or, convince Jonny to bring back assist :)

General Chat / How to play AA2 while assist auth is down
« on: Friday, September 13, 2013, 01:23:02 AM »
This was mentioned briefly by Merlin in the 'server will assist auth down' thread, but here is a way to do it and save all your favorite servers using an icon for each using your existing assist installation - and you don't have to uninstall assist or download anything.  I hope it comes back.  We have put up servers that work with the existing assist installation.  I think rapture has a thing where you download some files to make the SAI work, but I am not sure it works ok with our servers yet.

Note:  If system folders are hidden on your system, search may not find ArmyOps.exe.  Open up 'My Computer' or 'Computer' from the start menu, and paste the following:
%AppData%\25Assist\armyops\System
and the folder containing ArmyOps.exe will show.

Our three server addresses are:
82nd.us:1948       Pipeline regular with mod weapons
82nd.us:2064       SF Pipeline
82nd.us:2180       Anything But Pipeline!

Any other server addresses should work as long as the servers are using assist maps and textures.
82nd.us/modules/news has # of players in each 82nd server if you want to visit there.

You can see what we have of him by searching for 'o[N]yx'  at http://82nd.us/modules/AA_gameservers/info.php
we've been told his k/d is extremely high when no admins are in the server.  Nobody has informed me of the classic signs of no recoil when being watched.

General Chat / Re: AntiPoke Version Mismatch
« on: Sunday, August 18, 2013, 18:14:30 PM »
Rather than say 'antipoke mismatch' it should read something like "Server not up to date" so that those connecting won't be baffled.  Our server #1 has been that way for a few hours now.  Restarts don't seem to affect it.

The 'beta' team isn't large enough to find every problem and be effective, given the community size.  I suggest extensive use of a bugtracker (maybe use sourceforge's) and have the links to it on this website.  That way you can monitor trends and get the best intelligence on what the problem might be.

Bug Reports / Re: Keep getting Lag spikes
« on: Tuesday, August 06, 2013, 13:45:47 PM »
In my experience lag spikes are usually network or server caused.  If there's nothing on your computer that is using network besides AA (you mentioned something about using gamebooster) then it's server side.  Try different servers, maybe try to notice a difference with few vs many players.  PB usually causes issues the most when a player connects.

The thing you have to remember about pb is although it might seem useless, it's only because there are less hackers interested in the game.  PB facility gives us alot of tools to check for previous hacks.  For example, all the memory signatures it looks for for .dll hooks are not readily available to the coding community.  Some server tools like webtool and scrolling rules are still used by server admins.  Screenshots, although they don't catch anyone, keep hackers from using easily available prior wall hacks and such.  I say make best use of it and leave it on.

General Chat / Linux server issue - Server Offline or Logfile not present
« on: Monday, July 15, 2013, 22:06:03 PM »
Not sure if this is a new problem or not. There are three processes started - the aa server, the 'serverx', and the bash export processes.  I created a script to end task on all three processes, and restart the server.  The only change was that before, I was killing them off using groupid instead of killing them off by each pid.
When I go into the server, it seems to work ok for about a min, then gun quits working.
When I exit the server, Assist will say at the bottom "Server logfile not present" or "Server Offline" and it will persist in saying that on random occasions.
Any insight as to why that happens?

General Chat / Re: Assist update causing problems
« on: Sunday, July 14, 2013, 03:29:27 AM »
I think your issue lies in copying stuff from 2.8 :)

Reset + Repair should fix you up.

Reset + Repair worked.  Had to go back and reconfigure my user.ini again with all my backed up keybindings (yeah, I have keybindings beyond regular controls, such thinks like 'GreyStar=CommoRadio | commosendmessage 21') minus the alias crap, reset the mouse settings, ect.  Not sure why deleting 'ONRELEASE' out of it before didn't take.

General Chat / Assist update causing problems
« on: Sunday, July 14, 2013, 02:32:26 AM »
1st of all, thanks for the updates.  But - you should at least post what you are updating so we're all not scratching our heads wondering why the servers have to be reset and why we get kicked out of Assist.  (update:  I see now that it's posted at the end of the 7.3 thread.  But probably should find a way to show up on the main page or make a new post)
Also, getting an irritating error from Assist as below.  I had 'ONRELEASE' in there probably from the days of 2.8.  Aliases[25]=(Command="ShowScores|OnRelease ShowScores",Alias="ScoreToggle") was also in there, but never showed detected.  When Assist updated, I was getting this error preventing me from joining a server.  I searched for ALL my user.ini files and removed all references to 'ONRELEASE', but this error still persists (and yes, I am admin, and yes, all hidden folders are displayed).  Furthermore, you can only get out of this error in windows by task manager.

General Chat / Re: Why The New Update for 2.5 Assist?
« on: Sunday, July 07, 2013, 01:46:19 AM »
Perhaps a better pick-a-weap mod would be a more elegant answer. Having different modes such as rifle, machine gun or explosives to stop people from using a rpg when everybody else is having a pistol match. Then maybe allow 1 or 2 people per team to have an AR or something like that.

I have the decompiled uscript for pickaweap and modified it to remove RPGs and grenade choices.  Recompiling it with 2.5 is where I got stalled.  But I didn't try to hard.   In the end, we used hackhunter to limit nades and left the rest in place thinking Assault teams would come up with effective choices, e.g. cover vent, chastise the spawn campers, ect. but we kept getting flooded with those damn new player noob spawn campers.
