definitely wasnt any version from 1.7-2.5.... and i dont think there was knives even prior, ... i do know in the earlier versions, you could play on cheat servers and do 'mpcheat fist'...and it gives you some fists, but was weird anyways, your fists shot bullets..

edit:, did a little diggin, found this thread: http://battletracker.com/forum/america-s-army-2-x-forums/america-s-army-discussions/173815-knives-in-aa/

cant find anything relating knives in any aao version.. dont think it happened, seems more like a rumor.

but if you do find the exact version that had this, i'd be happy to download it to check it out.

ppl keep saying 'bring knives back' and the 'previous devs did it' ... wtfrly? what version do you have a melee or knife (fully functional)? cuz apparently i missed it.

and imo, melee is the same thing as knifing.... for bf3 and cod games, not aaos

i dont think knives belong in aao, agreed that they are for bf3 and cod.. the gameplay is the reason most people play aa 2.x series, if you add mods to game play your probably going divide the 2.x player base aswell (more) imo.... basically how aa3 changed gameplay, they also divided the players.

this girl claims all presidents except 1 are related to King John...

http://www.digtriad.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=146059&catid=175

i think she might also be the first to invent a new method for tracing family trees....not sure where i seen that at thou

and i agree, thats definitely makes ya wonder if elections are rigged....

but on the other hand, i like to include this site, http://litcorner.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3037:girl-traces-ancestry-of-presidents-all-but-one-related&catid=627:secret-societies  its the same article, except towards the bottom kind of explain how its 'kinda common' to be related to people like 'king john'...because i guess the girl herself was related to obama.

It's kinda sad that I never got to enjoy any of that. The fists weapon was pretty cool too from v1. I downloaded it a while back just to try it and it was so fail but it's amazing that Pipeline never really changed from v1 to v2.8.5.

for sure, only thing i can remeber, is that pipeline once had mirrors that actually reflected your soldier...people would do hand signals into it alot, was pretty sweet... other than that, everything stayed the same i think...

the 1.x days were pretty epic, no medic, no bleeding and crazy bugs... like i remeber there was a point on doors that nades could be thrown through...but it was more like 50-50 shot, so ppl who tried it some times succeeded, other times the nade bounched back off the door and killed em... thats when they were first making doors able to shoot through... and ill never forget the bug where you couldnt use teammates guns, they just wouldnt fire lol... kinda miss the 1.7-1.9 days, before sf was even thought of.

what version of aao did you start playing?

alirght, so i tried aao out in v1.5, but i was dial up, and by dial up, i dont even mean 56k...was like 20-something on a good day, when internet first started reachin people in the country...

anyways, pretty sure i got owned or somethin, and quit playin like first time...lol, so 1.5 doesnt really count

I started actually playing in v1.7, and by this time i had full 56k, i was tearing it up (when grandma didnt need the phone).... been hooked for long time since..eventually got dsl and played twl n cal, best gaming days ever... but after 2.6 i didnt play as much, and eventually quit for like a year or somethin... came back, 3.0 sucked and 2.8.5 was still somewhat aliveand you know the rest...

n here i am today ;D

so its because typing quit and picking a server in assist isnt 'americas army' enough.

I guess we all have our reasons, and by no means do they have to be sensible and intelligent.

I never once said the way it is is hard or inconvenient to type quit and pick another sever. I also never said it was a big deal or that it the way it is isnt 'americas army enough for me'. Do you have nothing better to say (or DO for that matter), so you put words in my mouth? You clearly are the one that trolls these forums without anything sensible or intelligent to say.

it was just a suggestion, for something later down the line, never once said, 'this needs to be done or im out, cuz its not aao enough' your making a mountain out of an ant hill. never even said i want to see in the next update, or the next 10..... Really, I just thought it would be more convenient for people, not a necessity, but especially convenient  for new players.

and sorry, i usually dont like to flame or bash, but in your case, i just gotta ask, are your parents cousins or something skrewup?

hey, just had an idea, not sure if its worth anybodys time or not, but here it goes.

what if you made assist an overlay for aa25 that can be a hotkey, or maybe made the ingame deployment button the hotkey to run the overlay over the old server browser.... would allow to join ingame, vs closing and reopening to go to other servers (without typin open xxx.xx.xx.x)

its not a big deal, im happy either way with or without, was just one minor step to bring aao back to where it was imo.

thanks for reading

no debate that ecstasy certainly lives up to its name, but i agree that the short and long term effects of using MDMA are pretty serious and dangerous.
