the different isnt that big like you say:
extraction:
west to east = 290 "steps"
north to south = 430 "steps"
total multiplied = 124700

dockside:
west to east = 310 "steps"
south to north = 340 "steps"
total = 105000

so only 20% bigger for extraction. i mean, its only a way to show you that there is not that big difference you do mean. and teddy, you as a matematic genius can correct me if you like, but no need for it on my side
