Ban Appeals / Re: Banned, but i was not xploiting, not on purpose

You only get sent to Leavenworth if you shoot friendlies and get ROE.  I'm guessing that's what happened, and Assist may have banned you temporarily when you closed it and tried a console reconnect or something

Server Support / Re: TRACK Back modded server?

SF-Mod, Pick-a-weapon and addnade might be allowed but you're asking too much to have respawn and low gravity.

I would like to see pick-a-weapon disassembled and rebuilt to only allow some weapons chosen. It should have modes like sniper, machine gun and rifle so people don't pick RPG vs M9.

I have the code to weaponpicker.u  ....

I'll state the reason we ran pickaweap on Pipeline - It was because people liked it and were tired of the same old pipeline.  It provided more of a challenge to experienced players.  Noobs were getting pwned, but experienced players were finding ways and teamwork to get around the vent rpg rats, the defense campers, and such.  We were seeing some really innovative teamwork happening and adjustment to tactics when multiple weapons were introduced.  Were mods abused by frag whores?  Of course.  And possibly it was a good idea to turn off tracking to prevent abuse of the honor scoring system.  Player visits are down since it was turned off, and nobody visited the 'unauth' modded server.  That tells me people are bored with the standard gameplay, but don't want to give up honor scoring either, and that possibly the "Are you sure you want to connect to a cheat server" message drove them off (which, I think is what Vanoke was talking about).  So I don't know what to think about it, but don't take the step of taking modded servers completely off of the browser list, and take the 'cheat' designation off of the affirmation to connect to them unless cheatmode is turned on.  But I guess since Jonny isn't around to modify the VB interface, it's kind of useless to argue about that.

Opps, that is if you have a linux server.  I have no idea about the window server.  But Eliz mentioned you have to re-install the dedicated server files.

Hi all.

We still have the problem, that our server is "Mod or Cheat Server". I followed these 2 instructions:

I could replace the "Server libs" directory, but not the "server.exe" - because the hoster sotres it outside my ftp access.
I also deleted the "System/server/" directory and the files downloaded automatically new.

Anyone has an idea what to do or how to fix it?

Regards
Graf

My problem wasn't in the ini file.  It was that the binary and libs need to be re-installed.  server-bin has to be installed in /Server and it needs to be chmod +x

actually the mech takes screen shot of the screen, if you are alt tabbed it will probably show what u can see :)
also it takes SS on Join. some users used to have Cheat clients on their taskbar / desktop:)

You might want to re-think this.  Either keep it from taking screenies of the desktop, or warn users in the TOS about visiting their banking institution or watching porn or whatever.  Heck, maybe a video conference is going on and you can see inside somebody's house...you get the picture of how bad this can get

Taking screenies on any screen other than Assist and ArmyOps seems excessive as far as privacy goes.  I have nothing to hide, but I'm sure others will think the same.  Legally, I think you can only take screenshots of the software you are using.  Maybe somebody is using an aimbot that doesn't need an overlay, but that is what the process list is for.

Eliz, thanks for your hard work.  Your fix worked.  aa25.ini got overwritten, but I had a backup thankfully.

Shad, perhaps kill Assist and delete the aa25svr.ini?

Didn't work.  Initially I edited System/aa25srv.ini for IdlePlayerKickRounds, FFScoreLimit, MaxAdmins, MaxSpectators and copied aa25srv.ini into the System/server folder which worked before. I see now that /server/aa25srv.ini gets put in each time server restarts - so maybe it's comparing the System one to the System/server one. If so, these items cannot be configured anymore?

well it wasn't SOTChatLogger.u or openslots.u, removed those both from System and from the .ini
Something is borked, the linux server directories were essentially unchanged since assist went down.  None of the servers were configured for cheats or mods before other than SOTChatLogger.u and openslots.u
It's not a mod, since now none are configured outside of what assist uses.

Restarted the linux servers.  Running in unauth mode.  picker.u was sitting in the System directory, but not configured in the .ini - deleted it but still getting unauth status.  Only using SOTChatLogger.u and openslots.u

Interesting trick.  I've always just assumed the address was wrong or the server was offline when I didn't connect right away

Open the map Bridge offline, before connecting to the 82nd server.

82nd isn't running a bridge map...
