General Chat / No Packet Flow
« on: Friday, June 22, 2012, 17:19:48 PM »
So a buddy keeps trying to connect to a server and keeps getting kicked for no packet flow before he ever gets authorized or whatever. Any ideas what may be causing this?

News / TWL NA Matches - 6/20/2012
« on: Thursday, June 21, 2012, 20:13:01 PM »
Non-Sense and AK4 did battle on Pipeline, a map very near and dear to all (well…. most) of our hearts. The map features a very defensive sided build and many matches are normally decided by who can squeeze out those couple crucial assault rounds to take an advantage. This match broke the standard pipeline procedure. A very even match was played on both assaulting and defending sides. Non-Sense opted to start on defense, where a lack of decent strategy, a few missed grenades, and relentless main pushing from AK4’s Jason quickly turned the match in favor of AK4. Down 3 - 2 Non-Sense’s Yokems clutched a defensive round that brought the match to an even 3 – 3 at the half. On the assaulting side round wins were traded off until the score sat at 6 – 5 in favor of AK4. In the final round Non-Sense’s eKComm came up with a 3 v 1 clutch to bring the match to overtime on SF Dockside. In overtime, AK4 started with assault west. Taking full advantage of assault west’s rush up to the top of the central building, AK4 was able to get a quick 203 kill and an objective within the first minute of play. Trading kills left AK4 with a 2 v 1 situation where they were able to seal the match, and cap an upset win in overtime.

Scores and K/D didn't get recorded due to the server crashing.

Upcoming Matches:

#1 .[Ak4]. vs #3 .neXus               6/30
#2 Non-Sense vs #9 .sUp-          6/26

mAAp Project / Re: Deafening wind in Sandstorm

Your sentence looked good up until this part. An X-Fi will bottleneck these headphones and you won't get to hear them for what they're really worth.

I solely bought them for gaming. I know this will upset you but I'm not looking for quality but quantity in the sounds I can hear. Even with the XFI these headphones sound really good. The difference with these headphones from other gaming headphones is the bass. The bass is amazing with these things.

The ATH-AD700 from Audio Technica are the shit! I went from HD555's to these and I could tell a huge difference. These headphones and the right XFI and settings you can pretty much hear everything in game.

From what I've heard from multiple past Beta testers the Devs encouraged ini editing solely for performance in your game play.

General Chat / Re: BF-Conquest Objective on bridge (Poll)

First of all as cool as change would be I'm not sure how much we can actually change. Making maps and doing a few tweaks sure but increasing graphics and changing gameplay noticeably might not be that easy and maybe not even possible. Also the whole reason this game is still around is because people love it. Look what happened when the Devs tried to change it (AA3) It killed off 90% of the community. Changing things too much now would kill off whats left of the game IMO.

I completely agree with Max. People still play this game because of the classic maps. The only thing I agree with fixing in those maps are fixing issues, bugs, exploits etc. To keep you from being "bored" new maps need to be developed (which spanky, max, killa, blue and whoever else are doing so). Changing existing maps isn't going to fix anything but piss people off. Making new versions of the maps are a good idea but completely changing the original will not go over well. Me personally I'm excited to see what the mAAp people have to offer in the next patch. Hopefully there is a good balanced map that comes out that could be potentially put in with the other competition maps.

Plus no one is getting paid to develop this game you're asking a lot from the people that run Assist. You should be happy that you're still able to play this game. With that said keep up the good work and everything y'all have done is appreciated.

In the team description you should put something like "If you beat us you'll be permanently banned from Assist." haha

Y'all should really consider doing it IMO. Probably play one match a week and it's not like the ladder thing is super serious or anything. Just go in and have fun!

Sorry for the double post but it seems I can't modify my own posts in the News section. Is it possible to fix this?

Just a little tip for posting this; it looks like you included a Read More link but the link was cut off by the character limit and screwed up the HTML for the home page. It was a good and creative idea but you were probably 2-3 characters over :) I've changed the limit to 1000 characters. Thanks for posting some new content. TNF was getting a bit old for news.

The read more link was all ek's idea! I blame him..

Non-Sense defended their first place position against a determined AfterFX last night (Wednesday) on one of the more underplayed maps in Americas Army, Headquarters Raid. An even match was fought by both teams. Non-Sense, with side choice, chose to start on assault. Running a few different offensive strategies was enough to squeeze out two hard-fought assault rounds, making the score 2 – 4 at the half in favor of AfterFX. On defense, Yokems and Confusion came up big with many solid plays and key kills. Non-Sense, winning with a score of 7 – 5, salvaged their 4th straight victory and remains undefeated in the first place position in the TWL ladder.

Nexus defended their third place position agaisnt Ak4 last night on Mout McKenna, one of the most popular maps in Americas Army. Nexus, with side choice, chose Loyalty to start the match. Playing with one man down Nexus managed to keep the match tied at the half 3 – 3. On Honor, k!cker came up with a 4v1 ace to eventually push the match into overtime which was pre-determined for Urban Assault. Overtime is one round, winner takes all. Nexus getting West as their side start took West objective early while Ak4 taking an early pick. In the closing minutes of the round, 2GoOd and k!cker were last alive with all of Ak4 still up, k!cker was holding off a last effort West push from Ak4 while 2GoOd pushed East objective and then finally taking the objective and winning the match. Nexus wins their third match and remains third on the ladder.
