Chrome crashing? Probably hardware acceleration. Might try OCCT to check for errors on your GPU.

Hard drives can withstand quite a bit of damage in the mail. I think most I've seen are rated to 1,000 g's? That's a lot of force. Still, I have a hard time trusting new drives let alone used ones.

My guess is that it's the hard drive going tits up. Instead of messing with a Linux distro which can be incredibly frustrating, grab Hiren's Boot CD and boot the live Windows XP. It'll be a familiar interface and you can move data off your drive if it stays alive long enough.

After you get the data off, there's oodles of utilities in HBCD that will let you scan hard drive health and see if it's faulty.

They're removed for admins. Why do you want them there?

Yeah realized it too late. But saying 'SAI makes the game more realistic' wasn't true, whatever :D

It does. I will bet any amount of money that in the not so distant future, a HUD and all info about your squad will be available in real life.

I would leave the Donation Box Visible. So you can see progress :D

The Donate button at the very top nav is still visible no matter what, they can check progress there.
My thought was that it takes up room and makes extra scrolling to see the shoutbox.

i hope it will help a bid too.

As an additional, yet minor, perk of donating, I have setup the Donations box and all Vortex Servers banners to disappear on the forum once you've donated. You may or may not know that Vortex Servers hosts this website as well as several in-game servers and is the official gameserver provider for Assist. I've included more of these banners across the site to help advertise for Nick in exchange for his generosity. Donate to Assist or buy a game/voice server from Vortex Servers, either way you are helping keep this game alive!

Maybe I worded it wrong. My point is that spammers and map whores are what make the game boring. Teaching their tactics to everybody leads to fairer gameplay.

Fun is playing a map that's rarely played because people make up tactics as they learn what works and what doesn't. Playing Urban Assault or Pipeline gets insanely boring because you're up against map whores that have spent way too much of their life playing just that one map. As Yahoo said, practice makes perfect and map whores have way too much practice. It's sad to see that people don't branch out and move beyond their map whore comfort level to have some real fun in the game.

Blah blah blah competitive competitive competitive competitive competitive competitive competitive competitive blah blah blah.

What's wrong with playing the game normally ("publics"as you call it)? When all these little "tactics" (learning tiny details about a map) are known by everybody, it does level the playing field. For people that don't know they're possible, they have a disadvantage plain and simple. I never knew it was possible to nade into that one objective room on Urban Assault without using the doors. A lot of people don't piss away hours studying every square inch of a map offline. A lot of people just play for fun, and that's the way it should be. When you can knowingly avoid spam and shitty gameplay that ub3r pro comp league players use, it makes the game more fair and enjoyable.

hey man i think friendly fire being enabled encourages team communication. If everybody is reporting in and has a plan, really you should know where your team mates are or else you will likely be tk'ing them. i think the SAI takes away communication and teamwork and makes it more like counter strike.

The SAI actually makes the game more realistic. Not everybody gets on TS and not everybody in the server on the team will be in TS. The SAI lets every player know where their teammates are which is something you would know in real life, just by communicating. Consider the SAI a substitute for TS, an even more accurate substitute.

Mostly nothing new, but nice one for the newbies  :)

Levels the playing field. I didn't know any of these despite having been around AA for 8 or so years.
