I left a long time ago.
I was never here.

PS.
Seemed like the Possessed-type clickbate title from the get go so I ignored it altogether (didn't even look at the video tbh).

Ban Appeals / Re: Lagmyass Unban appeals !!
« on: Monday, August 01, 2016, 09:08:13 AM »
When were you banned? Anyway, if its your first time, you can appeal and make a new account after a week (the original account will stay banned). Just remember that on the 2nd time you get caught using macros or other cheats, you get banned permanently.
Not entirely correct.
If you cheat you will be banned indefinitely.
Our policy has been relaxed only in case of macros where what you described would be the course of action.

I don't see a reason to unban you. You cheated. That's the final line.

Disappointing waste of time and also oxygen on the guy that recorded this and thought it was funny.
Come on, the first couple of seconds were kind of funny! :)

Three years my son is on his 3rd, He got 1st years HNC 2nd years HND. Now a Degree on his 3rd year. Maybe you need longer in Canada and the states?
I don't know about Canada or the US. Here in Estonia it's 3 years for Bachelor's + 2 years for Masters (adding up to 5, which I was referring).
I know it can be 4 years in the UK, though.

It's really simple.
First you get a degree in IT in 5 years,
Then you get a PhD in IT (4 years).
Then you ask the developer of the site and get a very vague answer that doesn't really help you.

I hope that's clear for you now.
PS.
I don't have any of those things so don't look for an answer from me.

Miscellaneous / Re: Connection/provider issues - high latency and jitter
« on: Sunday, July 24, 2016, 13:35:50 PM »
Whoops.

Seriously though, I just agreed to let them do it, I didn't actually set it up. I'm more leasing a tiny part of my land to let them broadcast Internet in exchange for free Internet. I wish there was better but there isn't. I'm too far from the substation for DSL and the phone lines suck so bad that they can barely support dial-up. They suck so bad that they're just run along the side of the road, not even buried. Can't even get caller ID. There's certainly no cable either. Fiber optic exists but it's on the other side of the state line and there's no way in hell they'd split it off to run to so few people. My only other option is satellite which in ways is more miserable than dial-up.

Wait, do I live in America? This sounds like a serious 3rd world post...
Would be nice but it has it's own complications. Plus that's still a distribution. I was more making a point like Koden in that you want to run cabled inside the home, rather than use WiFi.
You beat me to it.  I was going to tell you to move out your third word country...
MURICA!!!

I wouldn't recommend anyone to play over mobile Internet. The latency will vary greatly as described above.

Furthermore, even WiFi signals can be pretty bad for gaming. Especially if you're not too close to the router.

For best performance, you should have a cable come to your house and a cable going to your PC.

Some does but most of them are black / pink. Could it be os / graphic card related thing, where there's insufficient permissions to capture the screen?
Yes, it's graphics card/os related (usually).
1) The introduction of Windows 8 meant that everyone on that Windows had pink PB SS. Not only in AA, but in all games apparently. It's possible other games got an update to fix this, but since evenbalance doesn't support AA2 anymore, we obviously didn't.
2) There have always been some graphics cards that have had difficulties making PB screenshots. There have been some "fixes" for these in the past, but I'm not sure about today.

Good to know, if server is set to take screenshots of players, will those shots go there at server under system/pb/ - might be actually a folder named as "svss". Anyway those pb shots are most likely either black or pink so they are useless nowadays. But with the logic above thought these shots would go to under pb as well :)
Client != server :)
Yes, the server PBSS (like you said, useless nowadays) should go under /pb/svss.

As for where the SS would go on MAC, I'm not sure.

If you press F9 in game the screenshots go to the "screenshots" folder in your AA installation, by default it is where Ronski posted it to be.
For example:
Code: [Select]
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\25Assist\armyops/screenshots
This is by far the simplest way to get screenshots from the game. However, like Spanky mentioned, it can freeze your computer for a second for saving, which is not always ideal.

Feedback & Suggestions / Re: Server map variety sucks atm
« on: Thursday, July 21, 2016, 16:31:45 PM »
According to the wiki there's 72 maps out of which 70 are tracked. And I would know, I wrote the damn thing :)

I guess what you're talking about "not tracking" is no map stats are saved. That's true for all the AA3 and mAAp maps (31 in total).

Now for the number of servers. Most of the time there's more servers than there are people online. That just doesn't make much sense IMHO. I understand what you mean, you'd like some changes in maps. However, the problem is not the servers but the people running them and the people playing on them.
You see, most humans are creatures of habit. They're used to playing 1 map and they'll continue to do so. It doesn't matter how many other maps there are out there, they will still join Hospital for their 7000th hour.

This kind of concern is valid and nice and it has been raised before.  There have also been events/attempts to try and "fix" this from within the community (Big Clan Day, Big Party After, Mapstravaganza and so on) as well as from Assist (promoting some maps by doubling points on them), however you can see where it has gotten us, unfortunately.
