I did and there were no problems, I re installed windows again to avoid problems.
Just finished a nice session on radio tower, no freezing

It only has a usb and adsl connections..
It's an old globespan virata modem.. ALE 130

And the thing is it didn't happen before.. i'm using this modem for over 11 years and I played AA since 2004.. I also played on Assist ever since it came out and everything was fine.. can't understand why it happened all of a sudden.

I know it can, but my modem doesn't install in windows 7, I tried.. so no internet in windows 7..
That's why I still use XP

Another update, I decided to follow up on the errors.. disabled time synch with time.windows ftp, started the game, played half a round, froze.
next errors say the spybot s&d service couldn't start, will try to remove spybot and see if this persists.

EDIT:

Removed spybot s&d and now system logs show no errors, game still freezes..
Found out that warning in application logs still exists, coincides with the timecode.

Will keep looking in microsoft databases for a solution since it won't be smart to disable COM+ service.

Further investigation lead to an interesting database which gave me the following correct information (according to the GUID's and error codes):

Causing application is no other than the all annoying
- 58FC39EB-9DBD-4EA7-B7?B4-9404CC6ACFAB = Dr. Watson (debugger)

- Error code 8000401A - This may be recorded when the computer is started by there is no connection to the domain controller (for example when starting a laptop at home). See also the suggestions for event id 4100.

I will now start looking for ways to resolve this situation with this annoying dr. watson thing.

It's a USB adsl modem, quite old, from 2003.
I would try to re install it but I have a newdev.dll error so I can't uninstall or install it without either repairing or removing the entire windows copy.

I do not see anything related to the modem or gsicon or adsl in the source list in the event viewer.
The modem doesn't store logs as far as I know, and if it does I don't know where they are.. can conduct a search but they might be under a different name or under a binary or hex number..

I have one warning in applications around the freeze time, it reads the following:

As I said previously my game runs fine and everything is ok except that after about 5-10 minutes of gameplay the client freezes, my computer freezes and my modem freezes with all the indicator lights on.

My only choice then is to manually reconnect the modem and restart my computer.
As Eliz pointed out for some reason my MAC shows 000000000000, possibly due to vmware installed on my machine.

I will add that other online games that use my connection do not cause this (such as combat arms), the freezing does not happen when armyops is in offline mode (start X ; X= map name).

Leads to think that PB is causing some interference with my machine.. I would add logs and screenshots but there are no logs left after the freezes and I can't take a screen since the computer is completely frozen.
