Dum question by having it off they still have to work for the sf weapon right????
No. Everyone will now be able to play SF maps without doing the training.

We made a decision based on what is best for the game.
Seeing as the NA community seems to just love Pipe SF and that's typically the only server up, it was impossible for new NA players to rank up because the only map being played, they couldn't play. This is one of many reasons for disabling the training requirement.

Its not.

It took weeks to vote on this, and the data we have on player accounts, player accounts completing training, and player account playing with only completing basic training is uncompromising. This is a move to help this game grow, and stay active.

At least half the people who have their SF training complete (way before Assist) didn't even complete the SF training, bro.  And they do still have to 'work' to get the SF weapon. Don't forget how AA2 works. If you have 0 Points, and 10-20 honor, the person who is of higher honor and more points from the previous set will have weapon-choice priority. And you never really "worked" for it anyway. You endured 'training' that was mostly propaganda for the purpose of shaping attitudes about our American military and getting people to join the US Army. Is it going to make them better than you when they have an SF weapon? No. If the issue is really from such a vantage point, consider the fact that we don't really know if you or anyone completed that training anyway, especially if you made your account pre-Assist.

Yes, indeed. HOOAH!!!
thats the goal of this decision.  Getting more people play this game.  We are keeping track of the statistics, while we add some extra advertisements, trying to contact other parties etc, disabling training,  adding videos on YouTube,  I will try to stream more often. We will see whether this will make a difference

Happy to hear a good decision.

We have an important announcement today!

After much consideration, we have decided it best to remove the training requirement for playing online. The training was originally implemented to retain the authentic gameplay and as a deterrent for banned users creating a second account before we had manual account activation.

Taking a look at the information we have as far as player statistics, it was shocking to see how many new accounts never completed basic training in order to play online. By removing the training requirement, we are hoping to boost the number of in-game players substantially. If you know anyone that has uninstalled or given up before finishing training, please encourage them to come back and enjoy the game.

A mass email will be sent out shortly to announce this major update.

I should remind you that the goal of Assist isn't to allow users to rack up a larger number on a 3rd party website. The goal is to keep America's Army 2 alive. The fact that forceclassing is allowed at all is something you should be thankful for (if you enjoy that kind of thing). It was never officially allowed.

I have fixed both the Getting Started page and the YouTube video by adding an annotation.
