Need help recovering (extremely old) account
« on: Tuesday, April 21, 2026, 19:26:53 PM »
Hello guys! I am going through my mid-life crisis and have built a retro gaming PC, loaded it with my old games, and discovered AA is still alive!

My account dates back to at least 2004, but I no longer have access to my old email: [email protected], the email has been deactivated.

I cannot for the life of me remember which clan I was in at the time I lost my account info in order to give an exact username. Plus, around the time I wasn't able to game much, I drowned and was gone for a few minutes before being saved, a lot of my early teenage years are foggy due to this.

I do remember my old email was [email protected], my account name was either HoMiCiDE or HoM!C!DE (might have had 615 in the name), but I also used heavyfoot or hvyft for a lot of my game logins.

I also remember being past 90 Honor for sure (remember being stuck at 91 for the longest).

My most recently played games would have been a crap ton of Hospital and Pipeline SF, but my clans played a lot of tourneys and we practiced all the maps.

I know this is a loooong shot in the dark and have already prepared for the bad news, but is there ANY possible way to recover my account?

Thanks in advance!

It doesn't seem very likely, but we'll see what one of the Assist admins will say.

Assist has always been a separate entity from the original AA data base. At one time, Assist was linked to Battletracker so you could log in to Assist with your BT and it would carry over your original account onto Assist, that was until Battletracker was shut down in 2019. Basically, if you've never logged into Assist with your original account then it has probably gone.

However, if you have an old screenshot showing your honor level, or something from your old clan showing your honor, then your honor can be bumped up to that level. You could also use the Wayback Machine and try finding your BT profile, if you had one, or maybe your old clan website which might show your old username and honor level. https://web.archive.org

Best regards,

Gunman

Thanks for the quick reply! I have exhausted my resources including WayBack unfortunately.

I was able to login to my account on 25Assist.
Username: hvyft
Player Name: [HoM!CiDE]

Do I just have a separate "forum" username now, and use my old AA account for gameplay? Forgive me for being out of the loop.

The in game account and forum account are indeed separate.

Glad you remembered your login! Looks like you last logged in some times 2019 (4 times), before that in late 2016 to early 2017 (a dozen or so times). So you've been back every now and again :)

I do remember trying to get Assist running back then as well haha. I can't seem to find any tracking info on my old account, even though I was on battletracker for the longest. I suppose all of that is gone for good?

Battletracker is down indeed.

But Hellboy has spun up https://aatracker.net/ a few years ago. That now acts as a tracker and it also feeds back into the Assist auth system to track gaining of points for honor (something that was disabled for a number of years).
