Anyone any idea what this error due to?

Happens all the time or just once? I can't determine with that error message but i would recommend you to delete your user.ini and armyops.ini and try relaunching the game again to check if the problem keeps occurring.

Theres that button in the Assist settings tab that replaces the entire system folder. I think it was called reset + repair AA.

This is essentially the same thing as Sergio said.

Looks like a typical critical error. Everyone gets them from time to time. As long as they aren't frequent you should be fine.
