You don't need a dedicated server to run mods.If you just install assist to the normal path.then once it is installed there,move it to another folder.Then install assist again to the normal path.Bang there you go.I have tested out all the 2.5 mods from that site you posted and they do work..

Eh, pick your own gun servers are what ruined 2.5 the first time around.

not true, in the last years 2.5 was alive because of mods servers that were always populated,  AA has lost players because of other games, not because of mods, if you dont like, play in a regular server, there are lots of options around.

ppl have the right to choose where/how they want to play.

maybe if assist has its own mods(like Ultimate) with "allowed" features, so ppl can run their modded servers authenticated/tracked without players crying about weird gameplay modifications.

its just a suggestion, nothing that needs to be done right now :D

Yeah i don't like the pick you own weapon shit.always some fuck hiding with the rpg or G.. to fucking much of a coward to come out and fight.Then you got SF on bridge with gay fucks hiding in def tower waiting to G your ass.

I do like the headshot messages and the mutate to force class,much easier on the server that way then with a txt file.

Well for me what killed AA2.5 was... AA2.5 :-\


Never liked 2.5.

I played on 2.3 till there was only like 2 or 3 servers, and basically I jumped to AA2.6, never really cared much for the 2.4 or 2.5, I played in the 2.3 instead.

But certainly from the old AA's 2.6 is the best and the one less buggy and more performance. But it's not a match against 2.8.5 performance..

Though I never liked much 2.7 and up...
u mean the mod johnnys explained twice to use the dedicated version of assist to use? forum search
I'm not even talking about AA25Assist...

Hell I want to know how to load the Ultimate 2.5 server mod.

I even tried it in a LAN server by manually creating a lol.ini and a lol.bat on the system and started a server outside the aa25assist, but the loading class I have for the ultimate is wrong, so I want to know how to load it.

And I wanted to make a private server for ppl from my zone which play in a lan party... with the mods we usually use in the lan parties with AA2.8.5 and with ultimate server mod for it...

2.5 has much better performance than 2.8.5 for me. No idea why you are getting worse performance.

2.5 has much better performance than 2.8.5 for me. No idea why you are getting worse performance.
Well in every 100 pc's i probably tested 2.8.5 doesn't stuck much, fps are a little higher and everything runs a lot more smooth...

And I know what I'm saying. In this 2.5 even with my GTX570, I7 2600K and 4GB DDR3 2133mhz the game still stucks one some moments specially when starting to fire then sometimes it kinda looks like it shoots two bullets at same time and it still isn't running as what I can say smooth.

2.8.5 just runs a lot faster, lags less, but I hate the huge HUD, and the fact that the chat clears when like a mission start...

I probably misunderstand again  :-[.

I want is to know how to load the ultimate mod, and I can't even load it on a lan server.

But my objective is to make a password online assist server with the ultimate mod running just for ppl that goes on our lan.

Specially because like I said somewhere, they didn't knew this game and can't play online much against other people. And they always wanted the cheats on because of the guns. Then I started making aa2.8.5 lan servers instead because I can desactivate cheats and activate the weaponpicker, headshot messages, killingspree messaes, etc with the ultimate 2.8.5 server mod.


I saw in a forum to load it like this:

Did you read the readme for the mod?

Usually you load mods in the server.ini under [Engine.GameEngine].

It was my understanding that the ultimate mod required the server to be in global mode and forces requires authorization, IE army auth, therefor not compatable with Assist auth system.

I'm not sure if he would do this as turning on official cheats will let players choose their weapon every time they want to during a match, and there would be some ammunition spam issue of course: people getting lame, choosing rpg's, AT4's, m203s and GPs and starting spamming like it was Omaha's Beach battle while getting a new reload every 20 seconds.

So basically you can hardly do that because people would most likely abuse it right from the start.

That's why I moved to AA2.8.5 for the LANS, because some were always spamming M203, and with the weaponpicker they only get one gun. But they really loved the PBall on the 2.5 with the physics...

They only played CS 1.6 on LAN's. I shown AA to them, they kinda didn't liked it much at first, and all wanted the cheats on because of the guns, but they started to screw the game with infinite m203's, so I found the ultimate, I activated weaponpicker and we'r all happy (most choose SF or spr...), now we just wanted that, but Online too in a private server just for us  :'(.

Also some times a noob was always TK the same guy buy mistake, so if we decide he should be playing I could revive him again back to game (Of course I wouldn't use that on a online server with ppl playing in it, only in a private password game with us)...

Is it just me, or did ALL of the repliers to this topic just beat around the bush?!?! I mean seriously...

Now I understand that this thread has been inactive for at least 120 days, but that doesn't excuse the fact that every moderator or person that replied to this couldn't give a straight answer.

Really, if you guys are going to create something like the 25 Assist Auth server, then MAYBE, just MAYBE you guys would learn that NOT EVERYONE understand coding. Most of the mods I downloaded from aamods.com came WITHOUT a README file. Is it that hard to understand? Hell thought you guys were supposed to be smart if you came up with this Auth system... Then again, maybe we all were wrong in believing that...

For those of you who came in saying that MODS are what killed AA 2.5, guess again. What killed AA 2.5 is people like you who sit on your asses and complain all day that it's not setup the way YOU want it. Well guess what, the world doesn't revolve around you. So get over yourself. If you don't like the way something is setup, THEN QUIT!!!!

Now back to the topic. I have read the README file for the picker mod, and have a DEDICATED SERVER setup on a Linux vps running Debian. I'm no stranger to setting up servers, or coding. My one problem is that after following the readme file's directions LITERALLY TO THE LETTER, it won't load.

So is there a setting or True/False coding that needs to be modified for this server to work with the Picker mod? It's the mod that you just have to type 'say mod ***".

Any help would be appreciated... AND IF YOU'RE JUST GONNA FLAME, THEN JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE LIKE A GOOD 2 YEAR OLD CHILD.

i am not sure, but i guess on dedicated servers the mod's are not working :P

i know the way to do so with home based servers. np, just pm me - but before you should cool down a bit.
