New version server
« on: Saturday, February 22, 2014, 18:16:59 PM »
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to set up a new server on new AA assist. We've been using old assist for a long time, but it is not working now.
We've already downloaded server manager, we set up the server, but we can't join it.
It says 'no record of this Game Master Server on the Assist Master Server. Cannot Authorise...etc

Well maybe you should set up your server when sober then?

Well maybe you should give me some advice instead of saying pointless stuff? That's why you've' made' over 1000 posts so far? If so, it's ok.
I'm just searching for a solution, nothing more.

I'm not trying to tell you how to do your stuff, but I find that people are easier to help when both parties are sober.
And if this wasn't your first time here you'd know most of my posts are not pointless (granted, you are right, this one kind of was).

I have tried to run a server myself with Assist SM, but I always ran into problems, but I'm pretty sure it was to do with closed ports on my end.

I'm pretty sure there are already numerous threads on setting up servers with Assist Server Manager. Have you tried anything that's already been suggested?

And you said you've been using Assist for a long time, does that mean Assist client or does it include the server? It's hard to understand (for me at least) from your initial post whether or not this was your first try at a server with Assist.

All in all the more information you can provide the easier it is for people to help you. Such information includes, but is not limited to, your OS, whether or not you've opened the correct ports (there's a topic about that somewhere around the forums) and whether or not you've added an exception in the firewall.

Additionally, I've seen Merlin write a lot about server stuff and he always mentions that you have to start the server when Assist client is not running,

Also, and I'm not sure about this, but there might be a problem with you joining your own server, did someone else also try to join it?

Ok, first of all thank you for your exhausting response. I really don't think there is a big difference in mature dunk man, and inmature drunk man (where age is not an exponent)
I'm pretty sure that my friend have unlocked all the needed ports (1716, 1717, 1718?) to be able tu run his own server, but it still doesn't go on as it should be.
I've been using Assist for a long time, but the old one. As I've stated in my first post I've been using older Assist - with server manager built in - to run specific servers (it ran fine).
Moreover. When we run the server and all we can see is 'ASM logo on blue background, which means there's no autorisation'.
Are there other ports beside 1716 1717 1718 we sould unlock to keep it running?

This one should contain the ports and IPs you need to have open:

just start first the server and then the 25assist, otherwise it can block itself.
if this do not help, delete everything from your old and new installation - also the hidden parts.
make a new installation with 25assist, also with server manager.
then it will work for sure.
