The line
Code: [Select]
AmbientSoundScalingunder engine.pawn must equal 0.8 in your user.ini.

Although its odd if you say you just installed Assist, you should have default settings(0.8 is default).

In any case, to fix it, go to the location of your AA installation, go into the System folder, open the user.ini file (in notepad) and find the line "AmbientSoundScaling". Now edit the part after "=" to "0.8" and you should be all set.

If you don't know where your AA installation is:

Then just add the line "AmbientSoundScaling=0.800000". It should be there, no idea why it's not in your case.

Thanks that did it..

This is the only thing i have under Engine.Pawn.

I have the same problem. I'm running Vista, when I downloaded Assist this is what I have under [Engine.Pawn]

[Engine.Pawn]
Bob=0.006000
bWeaponBob=True

I tried adding  AmbientSoundScaling=0.800000 under bWeaponBob but it still keeps kicking me.

Am I doing something wrong? Can somebody help me?

backup Your User.ini then delete the original, game will generate a new one but you will have to configure your keys/binds again.

or try to edit the file again, run the text editor/assist as Admin

And make sure your game isn't running when you edit the file, otherwise it wont save. I mean when you get kicked from the server, the game will still be running even though you're not on a server.

In my case taking ownership of the file user.ini in aao system folder solved the problem.

I opened it, saved it and took ownership.

After this no kicks for ambient sound again :-)

Ah iam using windows 8 just for information.

No need to do that, just delete the User.ini and start AA up, it will create a new and default one.

Go into the system folder of AA (see Assist ReadMe) and delete it.
