Running exec outside of the assist folder

I am trying to run my scripts from a folder on my desktop but not having much luck, here is the line i have on a text script that is supposed to bind a key.

exec C:\Users\Shaun\Desktop\AA2.5 Assist Files\My Binds\messages.txt

Any help would be appreciated.

try to remove spaces in folder names
