assist server help
« on: Monday, March 19, 2012, 17:29:34 PM »
I notice i the assist program there is a server button which will i think host a server off the computer you are on. I set up everything and make sure it says my ports are all opened and it shows up on the list , shows the O which says honor and has the pb icon. I can join it no problem and everything is running fine , great and smoothly but when my friends try to join it they are telling me it says that its offline.

Am i doing something wrong , do i have to have something else set up for them to be able to join me?

It means the ports on your firewall are not open, Make sure you have not clicked disable port test to external IP so i does a port test from your external IP.

this is what it shows though

So does this still mean my ports are blocked? I have my firewall on my computer and router off, and i have the windows and router ports opened for AA25
PS thanks for quick response

That looks like its working properly, is a router port forwarding problem or some sort of incompatable router.

hmm , yeah i tried everything and i went to school for computer networking so forth and i tried all i can try . i just dont know why others see it as offline.

One thing i did notice is that int he edit part on the assist program it says password so forth and i have nothing put there. But when i launch and load into my server and hit F12 it shows there is a password but never shows it on the list if you know what im saying ( little key lock) mine doesn't show that but i unchecked the box for password for server .

Could this be why they are seeing it as offline or that has nothing to do with it? Im just running out of options to try.

No, Go back to thinking about router and firewalls. Does your ISP block incoming ports maybe.

Did you try without using the router just to see if it works?

Ok well then i wont have to try it without router, maybe i did something while trying to fix it . but i dont know what i just did so hope i wont have to do it again.

So one little last question off topic. Since you were able to join and if i get few of my friends to join in later and we play a game so forth. Will it show up on tracker, count points and what not ? or is that where i have to pay?

I can join the server OK but battletracker cannot see it, Some strange routing issues going here.

Well if its like 2.8 little then i think you have to have 4 or more in the server and play for at least few minutes for it to show on battletracker. But lets say i can , then it will count points? no need to go out and buy a dedicated server if my computer can handle 20 people or so?
